Basilisk
Is there significant difference between buying an obscure old release on Discogs and simply downloading it? In neither instance does the label or any of the artists receive a cut.
Tatsu
It's not, at least not from my moral point of view. But from the legal point of view I think there might be one?

supergroover
downloading stuff doesnt add anything whatsoever to the music industry. Buying secondhand stuff on the other hand does, even if it is a little bit. When you buy second hand cd's, the person you bought them from has money now to buy new cd's. It doesnt happen all the time. And he could spend it on crack. But some of the money paid for second hand cd's will go to new cd's. so it is at least something, although i know it isnt much then again i see this va isnt even listed on discogs.. although ebay might have it. Psynetix
Gee, perfect timing man!! Don't you even have respect for what OPs say that runs this place? Not really, if there is music out there that is in no way purchasable, I'm downloading it, I don't care. Although I haven't downloaded in a few years, I will if need be. Downloading music in the past has opened so many doors for me to actually buy music.
