psytones Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 We all love Leftfield. I doubt anyone would disagree on them being pioneers as well as one of the best electronic acts out there on the marked. My question is, how do you define the music style, 'Leftfield'? And is it true, the band first, term came second? Got any artist recommendations that is defined as leftfield music? pea(e Quote

JISNEGRO Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Ulrich Schnauss - A Strangely Isolated Place Oh thank you, Clear Day is such a great track!! I like it since I listened to it in a mix, but now I know is from Ulrich-Schnauss (on the other hand I can't remember what mix it was ). I love when that happens, when you "discover" tracks that you already like So far, I found Andrea Parker and Ulrich Schnauss very pleasant to listen to. Let's see what happens with Banco de Gaia. Thanks for the recommendations and keep 'em coming. Quote
Time_Trap Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Well I never use that genre label to be honest, but I have seen it mentioned for what could be glitchy/idm'ish melodic ambient. e.g Maps & Diagrams, Loess , Abfhart Hinwil maybe. that's it. Quote
seraph Posted September 17, 2009 Posted September 17, 2009 Groups like : FLUKE, LFO, SPOOKY, 808 STATE could fit into that genre.... Quote
psytones Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 ^ *He just came in from the leftfield, suprising me with names I could relate to* Quote
RTP Posted September 28, 2009 Posted September 28, 2009 FLUKE Flukeeee! :posford: Would not classify it that similar to Leftfield though ... well, okay, the older stuff maybe. Check their album Six Wheels On My Wagon! Quote
