Malevol3nt
I can't remember a topic like this before.. Who do you consider to be a great Remixer? List some track names if you can too.. Personally, I've always loved what Deedrah did with the Lepton Head remix. But that's just one example. Your turn!
Laserflip
Zen Mechanics made 3 awesome prog remixes: Ace Ventura - Cardiac Arrest (Zen Mechanics Remix) Ace Ventura & Lish - The Light (Zen Mechanics Remix) It's hard to find more because remixing doesn't seems to be the norm in the scene. I found that list on psydb.net Most Remixes by artist: 01. 25 GMS 02. 20 Man With No Name 03. 11 Son Kite 04. 9 Deedrah 05. 9 Der Dritte Raum 06. 9 Hallucinogen 07. 9 SBK 08. 8 Atmos 09. 8 Elysium 10. 8 Joujouka
on10
Elysium for Orion and Zodiac Youth remixes? Man With No Name for Storm, Zodiac Youth, and many others (but they aren't all good..).
Oopie
Hallucinogen for sure. Find most of his remixes surpassing the originals in quality.
Insejn
I like the Infected Mushroom remix of Gamma Goblins. However, their remixes of well known full on artists aren't good at all. Perfect Stranger & Pena - Ode Ao Sol (Eitan Reiter Remix) is a monster!
supergroover
I don't find remixing to be a real plus. Normally it sounds too close to the original and than the remix doesnt add anything at all. In general the artists of which I like the original tracks will also make me enjoy their remixes. So there isnt one specific remixer that I like most. It is artists that I like. Guest antic
Koxbox, for their remixes of Slinky Wizard's "The Wizard" and Juno Reactor's "Feel The Universe". It doesn't get much better than that.
Ormion
Lemurians - Take Off To The Cosmos (Shift Remix). Good one! Shift & Slug-Apocalypse Cow (Shift rmx) Lemurians-Take Off To The Cosmos (Shift rmx) Hydraglyph-Isis Crisis (Shift rmx) Azax Syndrom-The Covenant (Shift rmx) Abomination vs New Dawn Corp.-Pass Away (Shift rmx) Multistate-Nefarious (Shift rmx) Absolum-Hardacadabra (Shift rmx) ALL of these remixes are better than the original versions, which clearly shows why Shift is an excelent remixer. Just like MWNN he knows exactly what to keep the same and what to change completelly.

Drosophila
Three letters equals one word equals one artist Ott I too also really like what Deedrah did to Lepton Head pt. 2... what a fantastic track! GMS made at least one great remix: Psychopod - Friagram (Growling Mad Scentist Remix)
rino
Man With No Name by faaaarrrr. Everything he remixed is pure gold. Oh yeah, so true, MWNN really has a golden touch. He always adds some more spice to tracks, maintains the original's feel while adding his own trademark sound! He is a fine remixer. Other then that, check out this thread we've had some months ago: http://www.psynews.org/forums/index.php?/topic/55156-remixes-matter-of-taste/page__hl__remix__fromsearch__1

murphythecat
Hallucinogen's remix is always better then the original, witch is a good sign. Ott of course, even tough, his remix album is not has good as the orginals one, ott just showed everyone a pretty shpongled side of hallucinogen world. Aphex twin mixes for cash is pretty outstandong Kettel had done a couple, and its always better then the original
pr0fane
Hands down, Son Kite: Vernon - Wonderer (Son Kite Remix) Tegma - Revolution (Son Kite Remix) Cosma - Out Of Range (Son Kite Remix) System 7 - Planet 7 (Son Kite Remix) Morphem - Ambrosia (Son Kite Remix) All are amazing! Elysium
The question is as all other "Who is the best" questions subject to taste. Just because one thinks an artist is the best does not make that artist the best. And "The best" is such an overrated argument. As an example. Why should I be among "the best" just because I am to be found on an old list that also are out of date when it come to the number of remixes done? (This was aimed at laserflip). I do not have any "the best" as there's so many amazing remixes done in the world. Just as there are so many horrible ones done. But I got a bigger one than you. It can not be argued
Malevol3nt
Spare me your buddha lectures, please. My question was who were among the best remixers, I didn't ask for a specific remixer. And the question is about everyone's individual opinion on which remixers they consider to be the top. I'm not looking for a single answer. Laserflip
The more remixes the better? Look at GMS^^ I never said your remixes are good because your on that list. I just though it would be interesting statistic. Remixing isn't a fully subjective thing. There are a lot boring "I-only-put-another-bassline-under-it" remixes. If you liked the original then you probably like the remix too, but that doesn't mean that the remixer did a good job. Remixing is all about putting 2 styles into 1 homogeneous package. kathmandu
I would say GMS especially around 2002 era. and now may be perhaps Perfect Stranger.

mephistopheles
I agree on MWNN.......almost everything he remixed is just great......you can always hear his signature, which I find......great....hahahah..... Another great remix (and one of my favorite remixes ever): Xerox & Freeman - Gravity Waves (Infected remix)...."...did you fall in a hole and have dad cover you? ....." lol! Drosophila
x-dream has made some good remixes in the past... Their remix of Koxbox - Life is (Life Is A Gas) is really something, I would say its better than the original even
