Bahamut
I've listened to many trance mixes of mostly mediocre stuff, just to discover that ONE track, because I know there are still rare gems in this genre.... and here it is: Fuuuuuuck me this track is absolutely fantastic!! Put on HD, turn up the volume and get ready for pure aural pleasure.
Ormion
It's strange but with these trance tracks, there always is some kinda special feeling or emotion connected to them. Like the first time you heard that trance track you love you were in that particular kinda state emotionally. OK music generally does that, but because these tracks are made to generate deep emotions, you're connected to that track even more so than other types of music. Just thinkin... +1 That's what I love in normal trance. They have a nostalgic feel that is awesome. Here is one my favorite tunes. It's so melancholic. Plus the pads are the same with Chi-A.D.-Pathfinder, but I don't know who copied who. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah7JzUmjpCg&feature=related

Lemmiwinks
check out the exact same sample as in Shpongle - A New Way to Say Hooray http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqEisBmYsmQ
Lemmiwinks
OMG there's a new comp out there called Eivissa - Best of Trance 2010 and it's filled with gems IMO, the not-psy-but-not-commercial-either kind of trance. I find many tracks have an oldschool trance feeling to them, even if they're modern production, a definate must have IMO this one reminds me of the good ol' Eye Q days... if they were still in business today this is what they'd release IMO: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26cva6A82j0 and this one is like Deamau5 meets B-Zet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J98PaSrhJd0
Tatsu
Not as old as some of the stuff posted here but still a bomb. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGzi2B4VUBQ I stumbled over it when got through my old trance records. The beginning is a bit long but start from 4 minutes and then wait for the melody to kick in.
Lemmiwinks
hehe this one has been rocking my speakers lately, that melody that kicks in around 1:40 is AWESOME!! Proof that there is still a LOT of room for innovating melodies in trance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rkj53eKoHWU&feature=related

Anakoluth
When I was in love for the first time, I used to listen to this one for 24/7: It's completely over the top, but gives me a nice, very warm feeling in me guts.
ollylovesgoa
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_DdT1epykdA&feature=related Been playing this a lot recently, getting into this ultra emotional style more and more! Love classic trance too, Dance 2 Trance - San Fransisco & We Came In Peace are just fantastic. Listening to new modern trance seems to emphasise more and more how people in the psy scene call something "cheesy" just because it's emotional. It's extremely annoying. Lemmiwinks
call me stupid but I'm just LOVING this track right now... I know it's cheezy as hell and is like a crossblend between Deadmau5 and Swedish House Mafia with some vocals on top but still, for some reason I really like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCJPerKjllQ PS does anyone know why youtube links don't show up like they used to anymore?? Rotwang
PS does anyone know why youtube links don't show up like they used to anymore?? Test: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=F1JE7KZdBBU e: works fine. If I had to guess I would say that the ad at the beginning of your video was the reason it didn't work. DISREGARD THAT I SUCK COCKS e2: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCJPerKjllQ e3: duh, it probably has something to do with the "https" in your link (since replacing that with "http" makes it work). @reyu
I had the same problem. I used to click SHARE and then copy pasted the link. That doesn't work anymore. I have to copy/paste the URL on top of the page.

psymetal&bass
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itqnherGNvw I like this track, it's like psytrance without the psy if you know what I mean. The production isn't over the top like all the other 00's trance tracks and it's quite light and crisp, yet colourful.
Padmapani
i like these ones a lot: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=plEmI12KoME http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=viyNVraDQkE too many media files? links will suffice. Cygnus X - Kinderlied especially Cygnus-X has a goa-ish vibe going on on most tracks that haven't become trance classics.
Veracohr
i like these ones a lot: http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=plEmI12KoME +1 That song is on Reactivate 10 along with a bunch of other awesome "normal trance" songs. A friend of mine used to have a cassette copy of a mixed version of that compilation, which I then made my own copy of. It was awesome, but I didn't have the whole thing. Then the comp was re-released in 2006 and I about blew my load. It wasn't mixed, just separate songs, but it's still pretty awesome. Except the last song. Tracklist: Li Kwan – Point Zero Jones & Stephenson – The First Rebirth (Red Jerry Remix) DJ Misjah & DJ Tim – Access Friends, Lovers & Family – Tribute (Bucket & Spades) Pan & Trex – Iceman On The Beach Luxor – Superstitious (Nursery Mix) Blue Alphabet – Cybertrance PH 1 – Sizzling Love Sushi – Osaka Acid Urban Trance Plant – Ready To Flow Legend B – Lost In Love (Sysex Style Mix) Komakino – Can't Stop

pixiejanet
I was worried when i read this thread...Normal Trance/ wtf..i was expecting cheesy euro crap...now i know you mean the oldschool trance of the 90s.....when the melody grabbed you and never let you go....til the end of the night when the music stopped...o what nights they were...i could never remember the names of the acts or the tracks so i'm now listening to all the vids posted and boy do they bring back some lush memories.
