D_Root vous distillera un live énergique et dans un style bien a lui ! Spinning the decks Driss - Hadra Records - France Since 1993 Driss, from Moroccan origin, lives in Grenoble, the city where he discovered electronic music in clubs 10 years ago. After manifesting some interest for many currents of this musical style (House, Techno, Hardcore), he found out Goatrance suited him the best. The discovery of this contemporary music fusing tribal references with an electronic present and, at the same time, referring to ancient musical roots, like these of the ancestral Aissaouas Moroccan tribe to which, he is dearly attached, was a revelation. Since then, his passion made him travel from parties to festivals, in France and abroad (Switzerland, Portugal, Morocco, Zambia…). Driss enormously enjoyed the psychedelic properties of goatrance as well as the numerous encounters it leads to. That is how he participated to the adventure of the organisation “Spiritual Freequencies”, promoting a dozen of parties with artists such as Goblin, Shiva Jorg, Lestat or Mael. This experience allowed him to get to know the public from Isere through his presence in front and behind the decks. As the originator and president of the Hadra organisation in Grenoble, all his efforts are directed towards the promotion of psychedelic trance in France and more precisely in the Rhone-Alpes region. Throughout the organisation of several regular events gathering an average of 800 persons at each edition, Hadra’s aim has always been to coordinate events characterised by a unique combination of local, national and international artists such as Absolum, Dynamic, Rinkadink, Jaia, Jahbo or again Triskell in a psychedelic environment and an affectionate atmosphere especially created for participants becoming more and more devoted. Kokmok - Hadra Records - France HIS CAREER PATH: Kokmok discovered the world of techno parties in 1995. Very soon, this peculiar atmosphere carried him away. He scoured the South of France in search of various styles of music. Yet trance remains the closest style to his desire. In 2000, passion got the upper hand and after the Boom festival, he decided to learn how to mix trance tracks. In 2002, he took up a residency at Two Up café. Quite taken with it in 2003, he started with partners as motivated as he is, a non-profit-making association Transubtil. Its purpose is to promote and enrich trance culture in the South of France regarding music and arts. Hence the creation of Tendances Trance festival since 2003 with two days dedicated to this culture at l’Intermediaire a small concert hall. It provides the opportunity to focus on various trance record labels, non-profit-making associations as well as artists (visual artists, painters, photographers, fashion or accessory designers…) Moreover, Kokmok works in partnership with several venues in Marseille such as le Balthazar or le Poulpason. His association schedules small parties or gigs where each set emphasizes a trance style thanks to a guest jockey. Recently, it joined the team of the dj' s Hadra and has in load Trance progressive part of French label. HIS MUSICAL STYLE: From his techno and house music influences, he retains the dynamic and groovy side, building his set like a long and methodical disturbance of sounds and senses through a wide range of trance tunes. Its Trance Progressive mixes is groovy and powerful, without losing the melody side of this music. HIS FELLOW TRAVELLERS : Chimix, Psychopat, Driss, Leptit@Shotu, nun, Moonquake, Elyxir, Inner-G Crystal Drop, Fog Looney, L'Elf, Orbeat, Dyno, T.I.T, Ninja, K-Lao, Sysyphe, Dadou, .. … Nemesis - Dacru - Belgium DJ Nemesis is Bert De Decker, born in 1980 and living in the enchanting city of Ghent, Belgium. In September of 2001, he co-founded one of Belgium’s leading psytrance organisations ‘Dacru’ (www.dacru.be). Not long after, he won the first Psychedelik radio Mix Challenge which lead to a residency at the Paris-based webradio. As he became resident with Psychedelik, and Dacru organised more and bigger parties, he had the chance to further enhance his mixing skills. Being one of the first dj’s to take a more full on direction in his sets, he continued sculpting his true style, later on described as 'Melodic Full-on'. In March 2004 DJ Kristian asked Nemesis to join the legendary UK label Transient Records (www.transient.com), a reward for the constant high level in his mixing! His dj sets have been crossing the globe ever since. Nemesis has also been producing together with Alpha under the name DigiCult, releasing their debut album in French label Avigmatic records. The second full album will be out in February 2008 at Dacru records. In 2006, being the label A&R for Dacru records, he compiled the first two volumes of the Orientation series, a selection of powerful melodic tracks which reflect his personal taste perfectly! And with Orientation Vol. 3 being released in 2007 it shows he’s keeping his finger to the pulse of the scene. In this last compilation there is even a DJ Nemesis remix of Electro Sun’s ‘Death Wish’ track. Over the years Nemesis has performed in various countries such as Mexico, France, UK, Italy, Spain, Hungary, USA, Tunisia, Germany, The Netherlands, Guatemala, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Lithuania, Portugal, Northern Ireland, Russia, Israel, UK, Sweden … and in the meantime also becoming one of the top dj’s in his own country. Special memories include playing the DJ Live sessions (Paris), the Rhakti Dei festivals (Belgium), Chichime (London), Mikology festival, Beat on the Beach festival & New Years festivals in Cancun and Puerto vallarta (Mexico), Caser Orgasmen (Italy), Omni festival (Spain) and many others of course... MaGiCdAvE - GanjaTree - The Badger's Ball - UK Born in UK too long ago, and always been a music lover, but until 1991 my musical tastes were hard rock – Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple… However a trip to Goa in 1991 and one party later I was hooked. Not sure on what, but I found a new music form and set out discovering new music. The journey was unguided, but in 1995 I discovered Psy trance or Goa trance and I never looked back. I started getting into the then hard to find psy party scene before moving to Plymouth in 1997. Up till this point I had purely gone to dance and have fun, but now there was no scene to be found in deepest south west England. After several years partying and promoting in the UK, I am now part of Ganjatree in Belgium and Teleport in Plymouth. This year was good as I got to debut at GT4 party in April, then played at Naked Festival in Germany too. I am looking forward to organising and celebrating 10 years of psy trance in Plymouth soon.
