Redington
Psytrance/Goatrance: Deliriant's Chemistry album. Principles of Fight's Chaos Opera album. Chill/Downtempo: Aes Dana's Leylines album. (val)Liam's Daydreamer album. Bluetech's The Divine Invasion album. Ultimae's Imaginary Friends compilation. Off the top of my head... to go alone with ones previously stated. Redington
Actually good chillout releases for this year? Hmmm... difficult one. Solar Fields was this year, right? Movements, yes. That is this year. Ultimae's put out a few goodies this year actually. Well, pretty much anything they release is good anyway.

Yard Hippie
Not listened to enough uptempo to really commment but for chill my favs for this year in no particular order are: Aes Dana - Leylines Solar Fields - Movements (Val)Liam - Daydreamer Rena Jones - Indra's Web Kilowatts - Undercurrent Possibles (only very recently recieved) V/A - Vampire Sunrise V/A - Hope Other cool downtempo discoveries that I find incredibly psychedelic are 'Lissom - Nest of Iterations' and 'Scanner - Rockets, unto the edges of edges'. That Scanner album especially has just totally blown me away. Not sure whether they should be included in these lists though.

murphythecat
is it just me, or beside some strong release by already known artist, nothing groundbreaking from the downtempo side?

RTP
is it just me, or beside some strong release by already known artist, nothing groundbreaking from the downtempo side? Just thought the same, but then I found that Tribal Matrix 2 compilation from Dakini Records has been released this year aswell! That one is interesting for sure. Guest antic
is it just me, or beside some strong release by already known artist, nothing groundbreaking from the downtempo side? Ocelot - One was surprisingly good (for a darkpsy artist, that is). Furthermore there was Third Ear Audio album, which is not really an unknown name, but still it's their debut and it's very solid. And last but definitely not least, Yggdrasil's "Prose Edda" is well worth checking - it's a blatant, shameless rip-off of Shpongle/YB style (it's all there - acidy arpeggios, stuttering voices, live guitars, latino influences, tempo changes - the lot), but a damn good one. mephistopheles
is it just me, or beside some strong release by already known artist, nothing groundbreaking from the downtempo side? I found KLIMENT - THE PERPETUAL RITUAL very enjoyable.....but perhaps too Shponglesqeu inspired for your taste.....
