Guest Chris
Hi there, I already heard a lot about the burning man festival. It must be brilliant. In addition I saw yesterday a documentary about this festival in the german tv. it was so impressing that i really think about to go there. Maybe my question is kind of naive, but is there a lot of psytrance taking place. I mean in this film they showed a lot of impressions with music but no psytrance at all (tribal, techno and anything else). Man I would not believe, that this festival has nothing to do with psytrance. Anybody stayed there already and can give me a short note? thx Chris

Guest Jaimz
Yes, there is psytrance at the burning man. Last time I went [2001] there were at least three camps blasting psytrance on the night of the burn. All three were next to each other. One had good DJs, one had a good sound system, and one had a laser. There were about fifty people at each. It was pretty disappointing - if only the west coast USA guys had co-operated a bit better they could have just had one camp with good djs, a good soundsystem and a laser. Anyway, I spent the night in the Eyephunk breaks dome, which was very cool [Freq Nasty!] and then by the morning quite a lot of people had gathered at the one psytrance camp with the good soundsystem [the CCC camp, with the Tonka system, for those who know], where probably the best Psytrance DJ in country at that point in time, a DJ Anti, played. So the morning was beautiful, and the night was chaos. It was great. :-)

Guest TjT
If you go to Burning Man explicitely for psy-trance then you will be going for the wrong reasons. It is about so much more than that. However, there is plenty of music played all over the city and usually a couple of large sound systems playing psy-trance. Also, as you go around the city you will hear it coming from a lot of peoples camps and last year the people next to me had a fairly large setup. It seems to be quite popular among the attendees. I think Biodegradeable played also and Process was there in 2001.
Guest aje
I live in LA, I had to Rent a Van for 1 week =$600/4 = $150 Tickets to get in = $150 or more if you get them late Supplies = I dont even remeber how much, but a lot (200+). If youre coming from Germany, younprobable need to rent a lot of stuff, because you have to be prepared in the desert. I don't know, I always thought its this hippie festival where you need no money, maybe thats why I was shocked. It completely blew my budget, I'm still paying for it, but it was FUUUUUUNNNN! You should at least go once if you haven't been. I just wanted to warn you, just because the festival runs on a barter system, doesnt mean its cheap.
