Snapinho Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb Quote
rino Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Once Upon A Time In America is my all time #1. Second and third place would be a tough call, but there has never been, there is none today, and never will there be any doubt about my favorite movie of all time! Quote
Otto Matta Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Both The Matrix and Truman Show. Yeah, Spielberg did a great job with those, didn't he? Great director. Perhaps even the greatest. Quote
Drosophila Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Yeah, Spielberg did a great job with those, didn't he? Great director. Perhaps even the greatest. what did he have to with those movies?! I liked S.S. in the "early days" but since Schindler's List (1993) I don't think he has made more than a few good movies, the rest are mediocre at best... Just pure hollywood cheese! Quote
Astrognomix Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Seriously? Mulholland Drive just made me feel like I got skull f*cked... seen it a couple times and still don't have a goddam clue what it's about... Quote
Ormion Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Yeah, Spielberg did a great job with those, didn't he? Great director. Perhaps even the greatest. Quote
Insejn Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Jason And The Argonauts Loved it when I was kid. It's still awesome. Quote
Sentinel Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I hate stanley kubrick's movies but doctor strangelove was really funny. I've never laughed so hard when I heard that crazy general talking about 'bodily fluids', and peter sellers was unbeleivably funny, especially in that scene with him. Quote
Otto Matta Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Jason And The Argonauts Loved it when I was kid. It's still awesome. Yeah, great movie. It's also one of the few soundtracks I own. Cool stuff. Quote
Otto Matta Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Damn, double-post. I'll use the space to say my favorite is Tarkovsky's Stalker. Quote
Otto Matta Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 A triple! I'm an idiot. Ban me before I cause any more damage! Quote
fosku Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. No doubt about it. Quote
Ormion Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 A triple! Just did it to say that I love both Spielberg and Ormion! Don't worry I fixed it for you! BTW I haven't watched Stalker yet! Quote
Sentinel Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 I don't really have a favourite movie. If you want to ask me which movie I had the most fun watching for the first time it would be Star Wars ep 4 - 6 by far. But I was a kid. Recently it would probably be Avatar but I'll probably hate it in a few years just like I hate Titanic now. Quote
Otto Matta Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Don't worry I fixed it for you! BTW I haven't watched Stalker yet! You should. I think it might help you with your Spielbergitis. Quote
Insejn Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Yeah, great movie. It's also one of the few soundtracks I own. Cool stuff. And the visual effects must have been amazing at the time. Quote
Otto Matta Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 And the visual effects must have been amazing at the time. I'm sure. I wasn't around then, but Clash of the Titans was similar, and that was totally amazing as a kid. Medusa scared the living shit out of me. Quote
Go-Goa Trancer Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Yeah, Spielberg did a great job with those, didn't he? Great director. Perhaps even the greatest. Bwahahaha! OK, as for me, I am still torn between two films. Unfortunately I have so much left to see, but as for now it is a tie between - Lolita (of Stanley Kubrick of course) Which has a superb acting from everyone. James Mason is aaaaamazing. Very eerie feeling during the film. Disturbing and entertaining. And, also, Idi I Smotri (Come And See) So far the most powerful war movie I saw. With a surreal feeling which little by little turns to horror and catastrophy. A pure diamond. Compared to this, Schindler's List is a dog's puke leftover. Oh, and I would like to hear some reasons as for why the topic starter chose Transformers Quote
PRS Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 Seriously? Mulholland Drive just made me feel like I got skull f*cked... seen it a couple times and still don't have a goddam clue what it's about... Ok ill give you my second best if that will ease your brain Quote
