Charlotte seems to have a lack of good PSYTRANCE / Techno Clubs.

What are some of the best clubs that focus on PSYTRANCE in the US??

I think you are confusing psytrance, and clubs, they really have nothing to do with each other. Usually psytrance events or parties are put together by promoters, and an event organized by the same promoter can be at various areas including in and outdoor locations. For the U.S. I would have to say that California and New York by far have the most events going on all year long, but most of the time not in clubs.

I figured there were clubs that focused on state-of-the-art lighting and psytrance music like astral projection and such

i know asheville has some pretty good psytrance events, if anyone knows the site that lists all the psytrance events in the asheville area let me know!

Can't really comment on USA as I am in Denmark and this is an International forum. Maybe ask on isratrance in the North America (There are members from across USA) section for better advise.

But usually the best events worldwide (those i have played at) are not inside commercial clubs but rather in rented warehouses (the rave concept) or other non commercial facilities. The only good "clubs" IMO are located in Germany.

As mentioned check out T.O.U.C.H. Samadhi and the Asheville crew. Look up the Chilluminati forum as well. You won't find any clubs specializing in psytrance in the USA.

I live in Sacramento, and am very close to San Francisco, and even here

where dance music and the party scene is huge - Psy events/parties etc are hard to come by.

Even though Burning Man is just 2 hours from me, it hardly qualifies as a Psy event

though the culture is fairly cool up there. The US just doesn't have the scene that there is internationally.

Its getting there slowly though, coming along. You're seeing new projects all the time

Aerosis (from the Suntrip label) is from Newbury Park CA where I graduated high school, so thats nice to see.

But as for clubs or regular hangout spots with a focus on Goa/Psytrance/Techno- you may just want to start one.

I have been thinking about doing just that and opening a lounge focusing on Psy/Chillout/Art here in Northern Cali.

We will see.

Good luck to you my friend - good to see another psyhead here in the states.

Peace

Up here in Boston we have monthly events in addition to the few times we party in NYC...

Nothing too too exciting in comparison to abroad though...

Anybody else in New England haha

Doesn't the USA deserve it

As long as I have been in this scene (since 1992) it's been the same story about USA. Many people have asked the same question the last 18 years and always came up with the same conclusion which is that no USA will never have a similar big scene as in example Europe. So don't hold your horses. Frankly you should be happy it's not as commercial as everywhere else. Commercialism killed the scene in Europe compared to what it used to be like.

Well I'd rather listen to 10 "commercial" sets a year than nothing at all.

Thank god i actually have a little, but very tight scene in Boston which enjoys good music.

A little too much on the dark side for me, but hey, who's complaining.

there are supposedly psytrance clubs in goa and you will inevitably hear psytrance in some of the cafés on the beach, but when i was there in february even the nine bar which i've heard was the best venue over there for a long time played minimal techno instead of psytrance...

Yes actually. . .I'm from Vermont, which isn't exactly a psytrance hotspot either. I want to really get out for the first time this summer and hit up some festivals in upstate NY/Quebec though.

Indeed there seem to be plenty of festivals, but not a lot of clubs per se.
