Veracohr
I'll assume you mean all softsynths, not just those in VST format. I use softsynths in Audio Units not VST. I haven't used a ton of different ones, but I'd have to say Native Instruments' Massive is my favorite.

Amygdala
Absynth! Then Massive and FM8... Yep, I am a slut for Native Instruments.
Veracohr
Absynth! Then Massive and FM8... Yep, I am a slut for Native Instruments. Absynth is great and you can do all sorts of interesting things with it - but no software stops my workflow more that one. If I'm trying to figure out how to do something slightly out of the ordinary, it's nearly impossible to figure out. The manual is terrible, and half the time I swear things don't work the way the manual says they do.

Sound like a song track vague question.anything from a phaser to a delay can be psychedelic you just need to know how to use the plugins. You can even use just your DAW plugs and get a psychadelics effet. Sorry for the 3 post
