Children Posted January 16, 2002 Share Posted January 16, 2002 INPSYDE MEDIA, the italian label who is going to release it (as well as the Promon album), is really not sure that's a good idea to propose all Tracks at high MP3 quality on this site cause that will probably affect the sales as everyone here already have the possibility to get them for free (even if MP3 quality is not as good as original quality) What do you think about that ? If the cd comes out and there r good tunes at it, then the 320kbps traks will be available anyway. Tell the label that this is an underground djs comunity, so we could have the tracks at a high quality but we r going to play them at partyes and make some (or lot) of the nesesary promotion. And the label should choose wich are thé best songs for their cd!! Since all the included tracks are NICE - but I've never been a big Napsteree, I love to read the cover, and have an actual CD between my fingers. But I don't know how many share that opinion? Next time - when the voting has ended, why not shuting off the downloads? So the winning tracks can't be downloaded? I mean, only a small (and very neardy) percentage have downloaded all 185 tracks I think - so odds are... The users of the site should also, in general, try to "promote" the CD as much as possible - and definetly not allow it to be copied... That would make future contests imposible (to be released, that is...) The idea about posting the MP3's at lower quality is also good... Of course, as an artist, you don't want you expression cripled by poor quality - would it be possible to stream the MP3's only, and not allow downloads? Children is doing hard work for us every day, I mean I enjoy it so much to be here often times a day, I would buy this CD and I don't care about if all the tracks are really my taste. I don't have a CD burner either so i can't just burn them... Why can't the artists email Aiffs (wav) to the label?? their only like 90 megs! then i'd buy it for sure... i got one question. if you DO release it and it doesn't turn a profit or even loose money... So the intrest here is high i would say, and with a nice cover for cd, people would probaly give it a listend.. Maybe you should consider, spreading the cd out also away from te internet where the real market is.. as for dk www.loudmusic.dk i´m sure they will sell the compilation there, they are very nice guys... Children Posted January 17, 2002 Share Posted January 17, 2002 To clarify things : the Tracks on the CD won't be MP3 quality at all, they will be remastered by INPSYDE MEDIA (Valerio even told me he projects to remaster them in the best mastering studio of Italy) About thenext contest Tracks quality, that will probably be 96 Kbps. Enough to have an opinion on the Track, not enough to satisfy with the MP3s & don't buy the CD. I don't know if the contest thing will continue if releases stop, cause the aim was to make people participating be signed & release their stuff to be widely distributed (-> become known on the scene) and earn some money for their work, so there would be no aim anymore ...
