Guest elko Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 does anyone know of any chillout acts who have a similar sound to that of waterjuice...ie: very psychedelic, twisted and funky? Quote
Guest elko Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 ...and who are not called shpongle, ott, younger brother, etc? Quote
Guest maxi Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 a bit hard when we dont know who you inlude with that "etc" of yours - as i dont see ott or younger brother have THAT much in common with waterjuice i presume you're interested in most chillmusic with a tad of psychedelic-, or maybe, hypnotic feeling to it. the best thing to do is probably to check the chillreviews section for tips, but here are some of my personal favorites; entheogenic deep dive corporation shulman ooze DIGITAL STRUCTURES' [label] compilationserie 'chillosophy'. volume number three just got released this spring. LSDs [label] compilations. latest release is the amazingly beautiful 'butterfly dawn'. dont bother to reply with an angry post if you already know the listed acts and albums, cause chances are that uve missed something, and its better to be on the safe side, than to miss a great release Quote
Guest ciotera Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 chillosophy 3 sucks.. unless you are into lounge music. haven't even been able to force myself to listen to it to the end. Quote
Guest maxi Posted June 2, 2003 Posted June 2, 2003 yep it definately is a loungey album, but that was not a surprise, was it? Quote
Guest spiral Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 haha, there's a picture of a lounge on the front cover!! what did you think you where getting? it's hard to find tunes like what your describing... but i'm sure you've already got it, but module01 has pretty psychedelic moments, and i heard that module02 is comming out soon! Spirit zones Chillout comps have a few gooduns on them! backroombeats is also another ripper of a comp, there's some really groovy psychedelic gear on it! do you have any recommendations? Quote
Guest ciotera Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 ok.. ok.. so I goofed.. should have paid more attention to the cover.. but nowadays covers aren't very reflective of what's inside (if they ever were).. A bleeding heart on a hook can be on a cover of a cd with pretty decent psytrance and a little bit of Jewish rap. I just didn't expect "lounge" music to come from a psy label, that's all.. The "softer side" of psy labels is not supposed to be lounge (case in point Module01 and everything on LSD).. but enough about that. Quote
Guest elko Posted June 3, 2003 Posted June 3, 2003 ta guys'n'gals, sadly i have everything you recomended apart from the 3d vision compilation and its just not twisted/funky enough...anyway i shall keep looking...maxi i am not angry Quote
