Guest Mijis
Thanks to a bunch of drug and retarded people , psy is dead , no more open air parties , producers are just bringing skazy , talamasca , alien p to indoor parties full of chacales ( ugly people on drugs who dont care about music) , when someone gets some decents bands to do an open air party , and everything seems fine , someone from the police or politics screw everything in the last minute . I live in Mexico , i would like to know if something like this is happening in other countrys .
Guest krize
ahh man keep the spirit up !! Stuff like this could happen every where, you just have to choose wich parties to attend, maybe go more underground/smaller and arrange stuff with friends with friends .... I dont know, the police screws up a lot of places (but this is not something new ....) I think we have a great scene, with alot of different people (but many similar ideas and thoughts..) And the police will never stop us !!
Guest Short Circuit
Compared to the size of the country, there is "alot" happening here. unfortunatly everything is so... small! parties for 250+ are really rare, most of the time its parties with 100 guests or so. Most of them are not arranged that well either, crappy sound system, no lightshow and so on. the local DJs are unfortunatly pretty boring, there are nice guys, sure, but there are too few of them. Information also sux, psy culture is so underground that it is killing itself. We dont have many outdoor parties here, most likely due to the whether, but I also dont think that the people that arrange current parities CAN arrange a good party outdoors. Drugs ? yeah most people are on dope at parties here, some come to psy parties just to eat pills. W
Guest neomenia
ke onda mijis? apenas te das cuenta? as mijis said, the psy scene in mexico sucks. and is not just for those things. ppl are killing it!!! outdoors parties are finished because 50% out of the 2k+ goers (*sp) from the party entered by "slamin the doors" (as we say) or simply jump the walls to get in free. adding to that, who wants to put 20k us$ to a party that will be raced by cops if you're not friend of the two main organizers in mexico?, or your partner have to be a big drug dealer, so the police don't mess around. they've made 1 or 2 days festivals, and they cost 25-100 euro with only 1/3 of the artists of a 3-5 day european festival... i mean... arggggghhhh and indoors parties... tzzzzzz... a little reunion in the garden of a friend house sounds better... it's pure merde that scene. but as i talk with ppl in other countries, it's seems to be a common place everywhere. neomenia share the knowledge before it's too late. : }
Guest psychotronic
Here in Mexico psytrance is a DEAD music genre the few shops that used to sell cd's are closed or they don't bring new cd's so i'm making my orders at psyshop from now on and i'm making dark psychedelic parties and few is the people that comes because they don't like it anymore they don't accept it.Psytrance was born here being unknown and ended the same way. Really sad but true.
Guest Duodenum
i think it's basically dead on the east coast USA. New York City used to have a good scene, and the big acts would be booked. but one organizer quit, and the other seems to have stopped (they made a lot of people mad). there is one store that sells CDs, and almost no one here sells psy vinyl i think everyone is just trading online now.... i sometimes download files, but i buy the music i really like. i wouldn't have gotten back into psy if i had not discovered Soulseek and been able to listen to everything before buying. the problem is, it's REALLY hard to find the tracks on vinyl, and even CDs are becoming hard to find for certain albums. i always check the artist websites, and none of the good ones are booked for the USA any time soon.... it sucks. Guest Quazzi
Yes, psytrance scene is very alive here in Portugal, so alive it pisses me off!!! Psytrance should have that underground feeling, now i see people listening to psytrance in their car just to pose, it seems it's already a fashion here. Motherfucking posers really piss me off!!!I hate posers........ burn in hell........ fuck off......... sminky pinky........... hate.
Guest v4K
well that phenomena seems to happend in almos every part of Mexico, though not the whole country. I live in Leon, Guanajuato and I´v been makeing partys since 2 years now without a single problem with the people nor the authorityes. Though I must say we don´t sell beer in our partys. We don´t have door slaming, no problem on outdoor partys and we deal with live acts all the time. Our partys are like 200 to 300 people. But the problems you guys are talking about it´s nothing new in this country. I belive all those things happen mostly on big citys, where drugs and chakales are takeing the sceen. Keep the underground alive v4K
Guest Ivan
Yeah...in my opinion, media created some how that phenomena, cuz what they showed it as, a few years ago, in that it bacame... By the other hand, we cant deny that "some" drugs are just a fundamental part of it. Its more about the culture and circumstances like v4k said. cuz im more than shure that people in belgium and portugal are full of "some sort" of substances by the morning. Be the reazon wichever, its a shame what the parties became the last year. Underground personal parties with nice djs r the choice left. By the way....i like to organize parties (de ves en cuando) and i would like to invite u guys to attend or participate of them, and i would be glad to attend sometime some of ur parties, and become some kind of 604 list but without all the rockstar, poser crap... just a bunch of dudes that now how to behave and like to trance dance with plenty of calm and confidence. So if someone out there thinks the same, give me a mail and why not, it may work...
Guest v4K
Fuckin´A Ivan!!!!! I´m whiling to go to partys like that from Leon to Mexico City. I even offer myself to DJ in one of your private partys, just pay the bus ticket and I´ll bring my ass with CD´s down there. Yup! I sign in!!! v4K
Guest sven
in germany the "partyscene" changed like this from 1998 .the x-dream "radio" album was the horrible beginning from this fuckin boring minimal sound on partys. but this year it seems to become better. hope for psychedelic summer.... sven
Guest psychotronic
how can someone say that x-dream- radio is horrible!!! i really can't believe it because is one of the best psytrance albums that someone can have i think that all 2003 albums are the ones that are dissapointing i just can say: infected mushroom : converting vegetarians that is a REALLY BAD and DISSAPOINTING album ,for some reason i'm happy that in Mexico it ended this way making "underground" parties and i hope this album don't get in my country as is a total dissapoinment for the psy scene. Guest Selim
Hey, Duodenum, don't be so quick to claim that the psy-trance scene on the east coast of the US is dead just because the two largest promoters in NYC are no longer around. Here in Boston things are small but booming -- last month some friends and I threw a party with Mr Peculiar from Australia and DJ Karan from Third Eye Records, India, last week we had Junya (Phantasm Records) in town, next week we have Penta coming, and at the end of the month Oforia'll be here! Then there are various outdoor festivals all over the east coast this month, including the Omnitribe one in upstate NY next weekend and the Gaian Mind one in PA at the end of the month (featuring Huxflux!). And in New York City, while it's true that the nowadays the biggest promoters are more into the minimal sound, there still seems to be a lot happening if you know how to find out about it -- there are psy-trance weeklies at clubs every night of the week, about once or twice a month there are bigger parties with acts on the more minimal/progressive side of things (Vibrasphere, Son Kite, etc.), and there's even the occasional full-on party (for ex., Johan of Alternate Vision/Logic Bomb is coming on June 20th together with Oforia). So I'd say that things on the east coast of the US are hardly dead; a little more underground than in the days of Synthetic Sadhus and Tsunami, but definitely not *dead*. -Selim
Guest Nomad
WoW! Thats sad man... I have to say though we only do mainly small parties...usually about 100 max...though lets see we did an 18th last year at my mates Round House, ok we had like Lazers, Digi projectors(2), full U.V. show etc ..... The youngens were asleep by about three and there was me Nomad, Trollman and a beautiful 'Angel' by the name Aine, a sweet Irish Coleen. Well we danced just the three of us and had a great time....I suppose what I'm trying to say guys as long as the Music is in your Heart and theres just one up there dancing then it was all worth it....... It is not what you want from the sound but what the sound gives you.... It is your journey and it will help you on that journey...let the sound guide you and all will be well.... try to guide the sound and you will fail...... Hope you can find that for which you search...... With Love and Peace, Blessings of Crystal Light be with you all, Nomad
Guest sven
hi psychotronic! what i wanted to say is that not the x-dream album was horrible(think infected album is more worse) but in 1998 x-dream played at nearly every big outdoorparty in germany.i think they made a trend for boring minimal stuff. and in my opinion there is better stuff you can play at party. its maybe because i am from "generation etnica" ,or that there is definetly music which is more psychedelic. sven

Guest Maak ku Paax
The scene is dying in front of our eyes here in Mexico tragically, the magic the spirituality is more than lost and sure in a matter of time there would be nothing else, but... remember it's like the phoenix and the underground scene will prevail with the real people, the people who loves the music, the people whom this has even become a lifestyle. Guest Rez
well you are lucky i live in sweden and the only music they play is very slow minimilistic trance about 120 bpm and alot of fucked up people who doesnt respect anyone and dont belong there in sweden if you want to listen to psychedelic you have to do it at home.
