Djuna
zjoink I really have no idea. Looks like someone who's dancing, praising the gods or something. I don't know, I can't even tell the difference between Aztec and Mayan art - if there is any. ^^
draeke
I have a t shirt from symbisis, pretty bad-ass, but god help me if i know where the symbol comes from. In my opinion Tony (manager of symbiosis back then) had it designed by someone and that's it. i have seen a LOT of Mayan and ethnic symbols in the past 20 years (always been fascinated even as a kid before knowing Goa music) and i had never seen it before. but of course i may be wrong and maybe someone knows it! edit: if anything i think it may come from the native American symbolism and not from any South or Central American tribe/population. see here the similarities: http://b4tea.com/entertainment/native-american-symbols-and-meanings http://www.kivatrading.com/symbol1.htm http://www.ancient-symbols.com/native_american_symbols.html and these: then look at an edit of the symbiosis logo in b&w (i made it quickly just to get the idea): i find some similarities. Veracohr
This is a total guess on my part, but I'd say it looks like an original drawing that was trying to imitate a native American (maybe Mayan) style.
