Guest tripster
I think I just understood what was wrong with my "relationship" with psychedelic trance nowadays. Like a lot of people here, I think, I'm still trying to find this feeling that only what we now call oldschool did to me... I mean TRAVELLING. I think the main problem is that I almost never go to parties (cause I don't have a car,no psy in my city, only one who's crazy about it) and psytrance is mainly done for dancefloors today. The thing is I would like to know if there's still music produced today that can allow me to be sent to hyperspace with my discman ? The ultimate album to me is The Lone Deranger. Could you help me? Thanks
Basilisk
Most people choose psy-ambient or chill of some kind of home listening I think... there is very little in the way of middle ground, at times (though not so much if you consider the light/progressive styles - they are often quite comfortable for home listening)... Anyhow this is the exact middle ground I'm seeking for an album I am compiling... its all so up in the air right now though, since most of the demos I get are still four-to-the-floor hands-in-the-air psytrance (I don't think the artists quite get what I'm talking about when I say 'home listening')... but I hope to complete this project within the next bunch of months and will naturally say more at a better time. Bottom line... there's too much disposable DJ fodder being released these days; music that isn't really good months after its release (if ever, depending on whom you speak to). And thats a shame. Lemmiwinks
"too much disposable DJ fodder being released these days; music that isn't really good months after its release " I couldn't have said it better myself!! I remember that I'd listen to the AP - Dancing Galaxy album for YEARS and still like it!! Today I get bored of a track in about a week, and it has to be a good track!! Indeed it's all for the dancefloor but since we all know that not much money is to be made from the scene especially with the MP3 thing going on, I can't really blame psy artists for not spending that much time concieving a track...
