Acid Harper
Hello everyone, I am new on this forum. I've been listening to the "old-school" electronic music for a very long time now (since I was a little kid, now I'm 39). My favourite artists include Klaus Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Jean-Michel Jarre (to some extent), Mike Oldfield and others. This summer I got my hands on FL Studio 9 and discovered Sytrus synthesizer. I managed to learn how to use it and I made several tracks that are similar to the music of the artists I mentioned above (hopefully ) You can download my tracks here: http://vandonridge.com/blog/ I think my best tracks so far are "Leaving It All", "Secret Spacedrug Mine" and "Dark Gas Giant". "Leaving It All" is quite reminiscent of some Klaus Schulze works. It evolves quite a bit in the second part (especially after 8:00 minute - listen from that point if you don't like to wait) because I add a lot of new layers and instruments. I think this is my best ambient track so far. "Secret Spacedrug Mine" is more trance-like perhaps, but it's also deeply rooted in Krautrock and progressive electronic music. Most of my friends think that this is my best track so far. "Dark Gas Giant" - I think this one really sounds like Tangerine Dream, although I am not quite happy with it. The instruments sound a bit "dirty" so I might have to recreate it. Also interesting are "Nebula" (I used the software emulation of the Big Moog synthesizer) and "Angels in the Mine" (again has some similarities to Schulze), Take me Out (my saddest track). I would appreciate it VERY much if you could leave some reviews or impressions about my tracks. Thanks!

Yes, the tracks' melodies are not very complex but that's what I wanted to achieve: atmosphere takes precedence over the tunes and melodies. I (still) don't have the knowledge to remake these tracks into downtempo goa, but if anyone wants they are free to do so. I can even send them the source files from FL Studio.
