Pixan Recordings
From exotic's review on isratrance. Tracklist 01 70 Days 02 Same Place 03 The Love Boat Of Kanchanaburi 04 Ypnakos 05 P.P 124 vs 177 06 Kif Kif 07 Die For Your Country 08 Livadaki 09 Psylassie (Vs T.A.O.R.) 10 Stand Firm (Ay Carmela Rmx) Im not doing a track by track review for this album because sometimes in order to do justice to what one has written a lot more goes into filling a review that really doesn't fit in and as a result becomes unnecessary and futile. Therefore im going to stick to the core basics of what actually defines this album and makes it stand away from the herd. FULL FACE has written some really outstanding PSYCHEDELIC tracks on this album. There is absolutely no doubt about it. The clean heavy duty sound together with lush atmospheric pads is tailor made for intense dance sessions whether at home or in the deepest and darkest time of the night at a festival. Not the run of the mill heavy duty sound mind you, one has to hear it to know it , to feel it, to believe it! Its like being in the middle of a twister enveloped by the raging winds ready to sweep you off your feet. If you tend to skim the surface , dont dig deep and ride the sound waves thinking it's more than sufficient for a sonic experience instead of becoming one with the sound , this is going to suck you in if you're half inclined that is , whether you like it or not. Unlike most of the glitch in the dark psy genre that we are surrounded with requiring the listener to be a subject to the music to make sense of what is hurled at him in patches to feel that he has got his moneys worth, FULL FACE on the other hand brings it together with such ease that it never once sounds forced or intimidating thanks to the smooth production and a sublime level of musicality and is a WIN-WIN for both parties. In a subgenre where people resent this sort of music from a distance , never once battling an eyelid to dismiss it as noise , it is very toilsome to earn a regard from the naysayers. And i have this nagging feeling about this album which i feel is made with a lot of heart and soul will shine bright and will prove to the people who run away from darkpsy sets that there is as much spirituality and good vibes in dark psy as there is in chillout or well made electro progressive full on. To sum it up this is not the wheel re-invented but it makes you sit up and take notice only because one can see a sincere effort and spirit in this music. So dive into this "loveboat of Kanchnaburi and it will guide you to shore just like you trust the captain of a ship in deep choppy waters to run aground. Enjoy!
