Ajanta Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 The graphic Novel thread! What are your favourite graphic novels? One of my favourites: Black Hole! (By Charles Burns) And X'ed Out by Burns. Can't wait to read the second chapter. Just bought Maus: a graphic novel about the holocaust. A beautiful but sad story. Quote
Go-Goa Trancer Posted March 4, 2011 Posted March 4, 2011 Do I need to introduce you to Watchmen? The best comics/graphic novel ever IMO. The awesomeness of the graphic parts actually matches the narrative ones. The manga Haruka-na machi e by Jirō Taniguchi. About nostalgic memories of the past. Very powerful. If you know french (I also think it was translated in Dutch) you must check out Peter Pan by Loisel. The story is revisited with very interesting twists, tragedy and very deep moments IMO. A masterpiece. Quote
Hallusinaatio Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Preacher, Hellblazer #41-133, Punisher MAX, Crossed, The Boys. Quote
Rotwang Posted October 18, 2011 Posted October 18, 2011 Of the few I've read I think Arkham Asylum is my favourite. The story is kinda pretentious but the art (by Dave McKean) is great: It also loosely inspired one of the greatest videogames ever made. Quote
Hallusinaatio Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Frank Miller's Batman: The Dark Knight Returns is good reading too, if you like batman comics! Quote
