Amygdala Posted July 5, 2015 Posted July 5, 2015 I used a CRT TV until a few months ago when it quit on me. Deciding to cannibalize it, I pulled out the main PCB so I can salvage transformers and heat sinks off it. I also pulled out the speakers. They're weirdly shaped, 1.5" wide and 5" long. I'm designing an amp for them so I can hook my computer up to it & listen to music while I'm working on circuits. I wanted to have something better sounding than the laptop speakers. I could probably get better performance from an IC amp (since they're low power), but it's fun and I can make it with what I have. In simulation I've gotten it down to less than 0.3% THD and about 33% efficiency for a class-AB design, putting out a maximum of a little less than 1.5W to the speakers. Now I just need to find some kind of enclosure to mount the speaker drivers in. Dude... That is EXACTLY what I'm doing, also. I actually said to myself just now: "Hmm, I think I'm gonna take the speakers out of this ol' CRT TV as well!" But seriously, that sounds so JF Sebastian to me - I wish I could do stuff like that. Meanwhile, most of the main authors (and the guys who primarily get paid for this) have left for well-deserved holidays. I think there may be something wrong with this picture. Fortunately the weather has been crap for the whole summer and remains so for at least one more week, thus I'm not missing much by staying inside and saving my own vacation days for some later time. Every year we visit Goa and celebrate our nation's "Independence Day" over there. I missed out for the first time since we started the routine/ritual. But it sure does feel nice to know I've held up my own words and staying away from intoxication and doing what's supposed to be done. This year I'm gonna go to a government office and celebrate the Indepence Day with some social work and also attend the local flag hoisting ceremony. So basically, I'm sitting here contemplating the changes that have happened over the course of one year Feels good. 2 Quote

I am doing websites now for people "professionally", but unfortunately the only two Ive done so far that I got payed for, I cant show you due to security issues and the current legal or not legal content of those particular sites. No, its not violence, kiddieporn or other sick stuff. Its just .. not suitable to show. But If anyone needs a website let me know! I never recieve payment until customer is fully happy with result, and I let customer decide the price! I do however have minimums, depending on how many hours I work on the site. A default user friendly site, takes only a few hours, and I write all code myself in CSS3 and HTML5. i dunno if "advertising" here is allowed or not, but anyway, hit me up if you need a site. Its going to be basic in its code, but very clean aswell, and it can look exactly how you like. What I DONT do is any java, flash, or javascript (maybe a lITTLE javascript.) And I do NOT use Wordpress or other pre-coded templates, nor do I use any website creator tool, I find those to mess up the code and just makes it harder actually, than making it easier. Once you learn CSS3 you really can do anything in Notepad and it just works. I also offer graphic design such as logos or what have you. I have some "safe" portfolios, but they are pretty dated now. Id rather just create something for you directly, and show you the initial preview for you to comment on, in which way you want me to continue. Oh well, that was my pitch. So this is what Im doing right now. Pitching my services as a Website creator, and also, for larger payment, 1 year Webmaster services. (Managing any changes you want done, etc.) All I need from you is a domain, and a SSH/sFTP login and Im set. Also, Im listening to MFG - Project Genesis. Quote
