Rotwang Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 John William Waterhouse: The Pre-Raphaelites creep me the fuck out. All their women have exactly the same face! It's not because they only used one model, I've seen sketches they did of several different models, all of whom had the same face. Quote
RTP Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 H.R. Giger: awesome... We have a H.R. Giger exhibition in town now. Haven't seen it yet (it's quite new), but I'll definitely go... Quote
Rotwang Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 Jean Delville Very nice, kind of like a more monged William Blake. Quote

Otto Matta Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 I like your taste, GagaISM! Those landscapes Ernst did are absolutely amazing. As a fanboy I got to see a bunch of them in Texas some years ago. Quote

That's awesome. I saw his paintings (pretty much all of them) at a huge exhibition here in Denmark in 2008. Mind-blowing experience. Heironymous Bosch Quote
Redington Posted April 6, 2011 Author Posted April 6, 2011 Hieronymus Bosch is one of my favorites. Good posts. Quote

It's not because they only used one model, I've seen sketches they did of several different models, all of whom had the same face. Haha, exactly! You guys have a very good taste in art! Ernst is my favourite surrealist. And William Blake is one of the most interesting figures of the 19th century! Jean Delville is an awesome painter as well. Some of my favourite artists: Odilon Redon Jeff Jordan Tuymans Koen Van den Broek Philip Guston Wonderful romaneque sculpture: (Moissac, France) Charles Burns Quote
