Trance2MoveU Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 We have best of threads for all music, but what about the ones you heard that were absolutely craptacular? Do they deserve some recognition? I know nobody goes out to buy music that they hate, but maybe stuff you have heard or bought thinking it was good only to discover it was crap. Could also work for movies as well. Just a thought. psymetal&bass Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I consider Filteria and Derango to be pretty dull. Most people seem to love these two. Quote

psymetal&bass Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Life is too short to bother with bad music. Nah, I personally think it's good knowing what to avoid when you're looking for good music, saves time and energy. Quote
Richpa Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 I'm not gonna speak about music, generally I really do not prefer high-tempo darkpsy and so-called pop-fullon but speaking of movies (i posted today status about it) I really hate everything related with Paul W.S. Anderson & Scott Stewart. Anyone who enjoy some good science fiction, should avoid thoose two directors. Cool topic by the way! Quote
Procyon Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Talking about movies, I recently rented one with a rubber shark so badly designed it made us laugh and then later angry. Such a waste of time. As for music, I am so used to listening to samples of really bad music that I don't register it anymore - there are so many to bother about, I just got used to them. Can't even name one. Quote
IronSun Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Life is too short to bother with bad music. +1000 I just never listen to bad music Quote
Procyon Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 +1000 I just never listen to bad music You're naive, for 2 reasons: 1) How can you say you don't listen to bad music, if you have not heard it. For in order to tell the good from the bad, you need to listen to it. 2) You can't say that if have heard samples. One needs not listen to the whole track before learning it's bad or not. I think it;s "cute" opinions like yours does not help at all. Quote

I think it;s "cute" opinions like yours does not help at all. Wow I did not intend to provoke such a reaction with that statement. First of all it's a sarcastic statement (hence the smiley) and all I really wanted to say is that I only listen to music I like. If I hear something I don't, I just turn it off, hence I don't know much about this "bad" music. Furthermore, 'bad' and 'good' music is all a matter of taste... There's a boatload of things I don't like, and therefor just don't listen to it. A good example of this is the radio. I don;t listen to the radio because 99% of the music played I don't like. Now, in respect to psytrance, I listen to a lot of different things, and some are more my cup of tea than others, but that does not necessarily mean that the things I don't like are 'bad' music... As such I think it is not a good idea to compile a 'worst of', because that's just ranting about other people's taste. (Movies are a completely different thing though ) Quote
Elysium Posted July 17, 2011 Posted July 17, 2011 Nah, I personally think it's good knowing what to avoid when you're looking for good music, saves time and energy. Well that depend on if people share taste. I probably like some music you dont and vice versa. Quote

(Movies are a completely different thing though ) + 1000 If I started on what I do not like I would probably be kicked out from this forum (joke) due to the fact I would conflict with the majority's taste :) I never understood the need for "Best of" - "Worse of" topics. It's really a waste of time and only show something we all know. TASTE IS TASTE. Instead why not debate about so many other and a lot more interesting (IMO) topics within the scene. 1. Why aren't more artists interested in voicing/support political issues (forget about the eternal Free Tibet cliche)? Is it taboo to be political observant but yet OK to save the Whales and Trees? 2. Has it become more easy to call yourself a musician and by that result in stereotype "Supermarket music" to get a fixed recipe of how to make music (Due to the many forums and help you can get there)? Just two examples. Please fill in more interesting topics Quote
