i have two questions. one is what genre is this?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx67Jb2B558

i know its goatrance but what sub genre?

its not psy. (note the bassline. cant be psy.)

its not darkgoa (its too melodic for that)

what is it? its excellent goa trance but what subgenre? yes, im into subgenres so sue me :)

the second question is.

i know the sample at the beginning is from Bill Hicks. but the thing is... when i listen to the original... it doesnt sound like the sample!

it sounds like someone else is saying his words, or at least another recording of the quote.

can someone please tell me where the sample comes from? it dont sound like its from that classic bill hicks standup show where he says it....the words sound different.

please enlighten me.

peace! and may you all return home to the light one day

edit: you can hear the full sample at 06:39 !! so skip to that part if u only want to help me out. thanks

This is goatrance, Sandman Goatrance, He always been a bit more detailed direction psy and not fullon minded...

the Melody or rmx is based on the Sandman - the end of the world.

A great track with nice samples...

Sounds psychedelic trance to me but not full-on of course because of the bass. ;)

It's Goa trance. I wouldn't bother with further categorizations. Sandman has a distinct sound... may as well be his own "genre" if you want to get right down to it.

I agree with Basilisk. No need to generate more subgenres. Many had their own distinct "sound", even though everybody "borrowed" from each-other, at that time and yet no one made up more genres because of that.
