Templar
Alien Jesus - Open Your Eyes Space Tribe Music, 2010 1. Open Your Eyes 2. Rhythm Of Life 3. Faster Evolution 4. Alien Jesus 5. Becoming Insane 6. Tonus Diabolicus 7. Lucy In The Sky 8. Digital Ant's Nest 9. Everything Is Nothing There have been many of them: Dali, Hypersonic, Massive... Generally a glorified crew which should not be spoken of. As an addition to this collection came Alien Jesus and the "Open Your Eyes" album, which instantly shocked psy-fans more than the pornworld-thrilling statement made by Jenna Jameson that she will never spread her legs in front of a camera again. The people responsible for this abomination are the (once) respected psytrance specialists, namely GMS and Space Tribe. The name is just as cheesy as Miley Cyrus, while their music here is knocking from its bottom's bottom. "Open Your Eyes" is a detestable thing born out of low diversity of gene pool in closed societies such as Space Tribe Music. The continuous repetition of Olli's music genotype sooner or later had to bear fruit such as this one. I do not see the slightest reason to describe individual tracks as there is no point in wasting both my and your time. As a way of fulfilling a duty and leaving curiosity behind I advise you to listen track samples at some online shop as an illustration of this whole peculiar phenomena. To put it in a delicate manner: someone overdid it by releasing this album. The GMSpace Tribe crew seems to be very delighted by itself and tries to sell the listener music-idiocy in the form of no-hands full-on rollercoaster, sprinkled with very cheesy motifs and vocals. A motley and kitschy mosaic. Kitsch can fun and intelligent, but Alien Jesus are no Tarantino or Rodriguez. The idea itself maybe has some kind of potential, but in a situation where I do not like already the first track and the rest is not good either, this does not generate good feelings about the whole thing. Let's not shout that it is crap etc, because there is no point in discussing such obvious things like the fact that there are crazy politicians in the world. It is evident that it is first and foremost exceptional rubbish, of which I could suspect the GMS guys, but Gould never expect such a thing from Olli Wisdom. After listening to the tracks here one can quickly come to a conclusion that maybe the material on albums such as "Dali - Colours" and "Hypersonic - Lerger Then Life" (I left the original spelling, which already made it to the top of psy-mockery) was not so bad. Scary as though it may be, it is very true. Long time ago in schools run by priests there were debates - quite serious I must add - about issues such as: how many devils will fit themselves on the head of a pin? When the "Open Your Eyes" album saw its daylight, psytrance online communities began to discuss this faux pas made by the artistic trio. There is nothing to wonder about and search some hidden truths besides the fact that it is best to forget about this release. There were comments that the album's authors made it just for laughs. It would be very convenient to think so, because it is such a disgrace that in can be a serious threat to political commotion all over the world, where one can experience true clownery and disgust. Maybe the artists wanted to make us laugh, but I cannot say if they proved to be successful in this field. To make one laugh one needs to have such skills too. Here GMS and Space Tribe turned out to be artistic impotents. Instead of laughter, this shallow and infantile album makes one shake head in disbelief and pity. If it is a joke - all I can say is that it is very dry humor and nobody is laughing, except for the joker, who also becomes quiet quickly. The worst thing is that it could have been a very good album, because the people behind it have been with the scene for a very long time and know a lot about creating music. Some time ago Raja Ram wrote on his Facebook page: "music is God's breath". In this case, dear reader, strong mints are an absolute must. To paraphrase the album's title: open your eyes, close your ears.
