Guest Nostradamus
Hi guys, I can see some music communities that are a lot more famous, and bigger. I think if we want the goa trance movement to keep alive, we need to grow, we just can't stay underground, do you agree? Then what should we do to make it more famous. It always bugs me when some one asks me for my favorite music, and I say "goa trance music", then they say "what's that???". What do you think ? Guest krize
why get famous? why get big? when we have such a good spirit we have ?? I dont want to walk in parties full of coca-cola posters and commercial stuff like nokia/sony/whatever ... Do you want psytrance in the mainstream, thing have to change .... Goatrance got quite a bad name many places (people calling it drug music, parties being called drug parties and so on ...) And I dont see a change in this ... I think the result would be very bad news coverage and lots of bad stuff I think we should consider us lucky to have such a good community, that is worldwide but still underground ! Guest krize
But ofcourse, I would love to hear psytrance on the radio on tv .. people dancing in the streets ... clubs playing psytrance all night ... But im afraid its not that easy, alot of bad stuff comes with it IMHO.
Guest Duodenum
why do we need it to become big? please explain. there are already too many releases, so why would we want more people clamouring to cash in? the ONLY thing about psy i would like to see grow is the # of parties in my area. i never want to hear it on TV, unless it's some sort of documentary. it might also be cool as a videogame soundtrack
Guest psyfi
i'm glad psytrance is NOT big. btw: in a village near my hometown a goa club opened up. but after one month or so they began also playing prog house and the like because apparently they did not make enough money with goa. now they closed again i think. goa just isn't a club music. DeathPosture
Yeah man... Why do you want it to be more popular?... I think it's just fine the way it is... It's kinda like "our little secret" right?... Well, of course I've introduced alle of my friends to it... Some hate it, but some love it.... Otto Matta
I understand. It would be nice to find one or two people around who like the stuff, so we can talk about it and listen to it together. You know - bonding through psytrance. However, the couple of people who've known what it is describe it as "too hard" or "that hard stuff." They prefer the lighter, happier sound commonly found in house and other genres. Strangely, all of us think the stuff can be aggressive, but we sense a bright, positive energy in the music, an energy most people don't hear, probably because they're either not wired for the music or they haven't given it much of a chance. Meanwhile, though, the fact that the genre isn't big makes it somehow special, if a little lonely.
Guest Nostradamus
All right! Let's keep it the way it is then ) Nostradamus. http://www.goa-trance.com
Guest spacemonkey
"probably because they're either not wired for the music or they haven't given it much of a chance." and there you have it, because goa the way it is takes some time and most people dont want music to ask much of there time for most people music is a form of release and for them it needs to be more simple they dont want to put lots of effort in it. people that want to give lots of time for there music either find out about it, or their tastes differ so much from it they listen to other styles of time cunsuming music. in other words for goa to be big it needs to be more simple and you already have that techno, energytrance house, so there is no need for goa to be bigger. Guest Quazzi
Look, i'm already fucking tired of seeing stupid people (speceally kids) listening to trance and going to parties just because it's "hip". We don't need that..... i wish the scene was even more underground than today. :-)
khogg
I like it just the way it is. I can buy my CD's online, and I can go to a local club night on Fridays and love every minute of it, and I can go to the occasional party along some dirt road with like 100-200 people, and that's all I need. I'd rather that than some big nasty rave in a stadium featuring Paul Oakenfuck and his legions of meatmarket trend following losers who would all look perfectly at home in a gay Gap commercial. No thanks. Small and unknown is just fine. Well actually, I could do with the occasional live act, but whatever... Maybe one day when I have more cash I'll travel a bit and go to some of these festivals all you Euros are always going to.
Otto Matta
Hehe. I'm there with you khogg. Meanwhile, those bastards sure have some nice fests, don't they?
