Lemmiwinks
Replying to ormion's comment on the Liquid Legacy review, I rekon it's better to discuss it here than in the reviews section... Now, I admit that I'm kindof left behind concerning the latest developments in the psy scene but I kindof got the idea that twilight was some sort of crossblend between full-on and progressive? IronSun
To me it's more in the middle between full-on and dark with a few hints of goa here and there.
Ormion
Twilight is the name for this high energy music that seems to be a blend of hard non-cheesy full on and darker sounds. This contains the South African sound, the portuguese sound (Tryon, Khopat, Sidhartha) and many others. Many will argue about the term since you can still use Hard Full On, but IMO there's a huge diffrence. Twilight artists use melodies that tend to be darker (hence Twilight), much more agressive bass than the regular full on and way harder and edgier sound. Although some track are difficult to distinguish between Full On and Twilight most Twilight tracks have their sound which is far away from the more mainstream sound of Full On. I for example dislike Full On, but LOVE twilight. Some examples of Twilight psy. mars
We have heard the qualifier "Twilight" psytrance only recently, but it has existed for years: typically the South African sound (Shift, Twisted System, Hiyarant). I would describe it as fullonish without the typical breaks, more scratchy sounds, towards dark music, and yet with some melodies. It's called like that because that's the kind of transition music you play during a party, after a darkish night, as the sun is about to rise....a twilight moment
RTP
Interesting style. It's good to give this thing a name; to me it appeared that many fullon that I heard on parties lately went more and more into this direction, mixing it with darker sounds and such... I was already thinking that fullon got attractive to me, but it seems it's not like that
psymetal&bass
Out of all Psy-subgenres, the South African is the one that I tend to avoid the most. Especially when it comes around artists like Shift, just not my cuppa tea. On the other hand, some Hydraglyph tracks do tickle me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-G8lhk-dFA8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLDH4Df6Id4 Original is better, but not available on youtube... pr0fane
Don't hear much new things here to be honest. To me it sounds exactly the same as the full on sound 3D Vision already released years ago; the same aggressive, speedy and quite metallic leads and basslines. Not putting it down though - taste differs, but to me it sounds just like a "cool" label because "full on" isn't the shit anymore
LuisBSF
Just cool music, as far as I'm concerned. Chunky, groovy and driving.

Although I wouldn't say it sounds EXACTLY the same, 3D Vision stuff (especially Absolum and old CPU which resembles twilight the most IMO) was a lot more techno influenced IMO, not that many melodies, more like driving layers of sound. But that said, there is are clear similarities http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=s6Cf-slrwlM&feature=related
