GagaISM Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 I'm looking for early Psy/Goa albums that have that Acid/Techno feel. Juno's Transmissions and Koxbox's debut are obvious examples. Thank you. Quote
Frontier Psychiatrist Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 KLF's What time is love has to be the earliest Proto Goa track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNvgXJdZJZY Or maybe Pink Floyd's On The Run? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Z55Qd4hNnA Quote
GagaISM Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 Pink Floyd is a little too proto-proto, but thanks for the KLF recommendation. Quote
mars Posted October 2, 2011 Posted October 2, 2011 There's another thread from a couple of years ago here, but it doesn't mention the term "protogoa". Maybe enter 1990 or 1991 in the search engine. Quote

Time_Trap Posted October 3, 2011 Posted October 3, 2011 Well I might be a bit of but since u also mentioned techno, here is some very early electro-techno,oldskool rave: Check the other track in the Cavity Job EP too. Also on a similar note Quote

HappyHorse Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 This dj set is full off very old Goa trance: "GOA party season 91-92" You can still hear al the original ingredients from Goa: trance, techno, house, acid, IDM,... I hope more neo goa acts will start again from the original blend as a base for a track, instead of copying goa sounds from the 90's... 1 Quote
Anu Katariina Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 or if not maybe: https://www.discogs.com/Razors-Edge-Exquisite-Sin/master/57958 I love this track! This dj set is full off very old Goa trance: "GOA party season 91-92" You can still hear al the original ingredients from Goa: trance, techno, house, acid, IDM,... I hope more neo goa acts will start again from the original blend as a base for a track, instead of copying goa sounds from the 90's... This set is such awesomeness! I personally don't believe any true goa trance revival until the modern producers get back to the real roots and start appreciating HEAVILY this kind of sound: like @Happy Horse said: to start again, find the roots!
