GagaISM Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 BTM - Bochumer Ton Manufaktur Profile: BTM was founded in 1995 as label for german psychedelic Trance and revived by Sha Ka Ree in '97. BTM is known for an experimental style of Psy-Trance which is mainly produced around its homebase in the middle of the Ruhr-area, better known as 'Ruhrpott', the old industrial core of Germany and Europe with about 5 Million inhabitants. The BTM-Trance-Compilation branded the slogan ‚Boa Sound‘, standing for a more urban variation of the wide spread ‚Goa Trance‘. With the 'downBTMbient'-Compilation a brand for the BTM-Ambient releases was introduced. CoLoUr DoTZ Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 I got 2 singles 407 and 408. They are both very nice. Rip Van hippy is more funky and freaky-trippy, Biot´s "Solstream" is a super uplifting morning tune. I don´t know in Germany, but outside there was not too much distribution for this label, or at least I never came across many of their releases. By the way, thanks to your searching through goa history, I´m also rediscovering some gems that where hidden in some boxes.... Quote
GagaISM Posted October 14, 2011 Author Posted October 14, 2011 The only artist on BTM I had heard about was D.I.M.O. Quote
no-nonsense Posted October 14, 2011 Posted October 14, 2011 Cult label, the Moksha and Biot releases are great. Quote
Anoebis Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 This vinyl: http://www.discogs.com/Q-Lab-Q1/release/308041 I adore ALOT... Great slow, deep trancy stuff... Except of that, for the lovers of UX like music, but earlier... http://www.discogs.com/Shin-Innocent-Motivation-Beltane/release/209070 Except of that some PERFECT tracks were released bij Biot & DIMO. Biot - Saturation is epic... My favourite cd must be http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Boa-Sound-Of-Prokult/release/338006 Quote
Oopie Posted October 15, 2011 Posted October 15, 2011 BTM is one of those labels that have somewhat went under my radar. One thing is for sure - it's a unconventional label and serves as a base for more "leftfield" psytrance. I remember purchasing one of their vinyls which has an interesting track, acquired taste of course. Have a listen: Quote
