Otto Matta
Okay. I apologize, Chrisa. I was assuming that you were trying to distribute Schlab's music. There's a lot of that around here and some of us are a little touchy about it. Â Me, I'm expecting disk 2 and 3 in the mail any day now - so I can't chat about it just yet. Guest D-Dave
Yep, Schlabbadurst would mean thirst for shit in german. Pretty wonderful. We didnt have any idea when we chose the name, but it doesnt matter. It only makes things even funnier. Â Hm, Epic, I sent your CDs quite some time ago, you really should have them by now. Please let me know when they arrive!
Lemmiwinks
"to talk with schlabaduerst listeners what is the weird about it?"  err... like that's what this forum is for, no need for mails IMO it's better for everyone to see our comments.  and I'm no expert but isn't the german word for shit "scheisse", not "schalbba"?  and DP... don't sweat it, I doubt Chil will post it, I sent about 3 new album reviews like ages ago and they never were put on the site...   SMI²LE
Guest Mindtwister
hallo! Â This might be a silly question, but is their any covers on the CD's? Just wondering! Â Take Care!
Guest razzz
offcourse there is a cover....only no cover-art but i personally don't need a flashy cover artwork...i need good music and that is just what you get with schlabbaduerst rekkords. Guest r2d2
It's no secret Schlab is one of my favourite labels (and definitely THE favourite of all active ones Somehow they remind me of TIP records when they were just starting back in mid 90's (damn it's already been 8 years since then). Â Somehow both Schlab and TIP from the early days had that innocent look and sound to them (of course both have their unique style). Both were not afraid of pushing the limits either. TIP first developed their signature goa sound end then showed another interesting side as well through for example very fresh innovative psychedelic ambient (The Mystery of the Yeti and Infinite Excursions series) and more fresh psychedelia like for example Orichalcum. Schlab on the other hand offers thir melodic "forest" sound first and then pushes the envelope with extremely heavy horror night music. Â I can easily picture Schlab as the leading label of the scene (in terms of sound I think they are there already, it's just that many people don't know them yet). I won't be surprised at all of David Tingsgard and Christer Lunstrom one day get to be compared to Raja Ram and Simon Posford. Â Â I think Schalb's big test will come in not so distant future. It's imminent that they will grow bigger because their sound is just too good to remain unnoticed. One they become "big time" they will have to make a decision weather to continue the way they started and stay true to the original philosophy or take the easier road and release commercial suff for wider masses. Â I'm afraid TipWorl failed that test and didn't continue where TIP left off. Â What will Schlab do remains to be seen. Meanwhile, I'll just sit and enjoy the ride this incredible label is taking us for

Guest psyfi
Yep, Schlabbadurst would mean thirst for shit in german. Pretty wonderful. well not really. durst (without the e) means thirst that'S true. but the word schlabba doesn't exist. shit is scheiße in german, as lemmi pointed out. there is a verb "schlabbern". it's a colloquial word which could be translated to "to lick" or even better "to slurp" or "to sip". so it got nothing to do with shit, sorry guys! Guest D-Dave
No, some other germans told me schlabba means shit. They thought it was very funny. Just as Tim Schuldt laughed his ass off when he saw Anoebis wearing a Schlabbaduerst ReKkords t-shirt.
Guest Chrisa
maybe schlabba means shit in something like argo in german..well the thing i ve never understand is why that phrase"battle of the future buddhas"(it was on a book if i remember well)looked them so funny i realy wanna know the story... Järsimähäiriö
That's neat... These bois pick up names for their projects and only later will they discover the name actually has a meaning. Of course talking about Ka Sol here, who apparently had no idea that Kasol is a village in northern India. Hmm. Like I said, neat.
Guest psyfi
it might be some strange northern german slang word. i never understand those guys from the north. they use strange words. must be the proximity to scandinavia
