Guest Freetransform Records
FTFR002 PhasePhour-Moment/Moments is OUT NOW through Cosmophilia!!!! The duo, consisting of Eldar von Essen and John Robert Egeland, represent a slightly different way of making highly psychedelig trance. Their way of combining the shattering hard beats with the pumping basslines, psychedelic effects, tweaky sounds and melodies has been very well recieved among a lot of dj s and party goers. www.freetransform.no www.phasephour.com Check it out! khogg
I don't miss Ra. That was the most god awful CD ever (and I like oldschool goa!). The samples. Oh my GOD! Cheddar city. Bleach. I sold my copy and I'm soooo glad.

Lemmiwinks
Well sure it didn't stand up to older standards like AP, Cosmosis, Tandu, Pleiadians and such but still it was THE last oldschool album released!!! Anything that came afterwards is kiddie play compared to it... SMI²LE
khogg
How about: Green Ohms - Coming Through in Waves Cosmosis - Contact Man With No Name - Interstate Highway Electric Universe - Unify ? These may not be quite as inspirational as the classics but are still very good with quite a bit oldschool flavour and are just a few examples. I don't think Ra was the last oldschool or oldschool-like album at all.
Guest sky
do you send the demo?
Guest IR0nWh0RE
To Sirius by Ra was an amazing album for the time it came out. The melodies were awesome for every single song. and was it just me or was the album egyptian music sounding...anyways whatever it was, it was the shit, and if anyone knows wut happened to Ra or any of their members it'd be nice to know. PEACE
Lemmiwinks
"How about: Green Ohms - Coming Through in Waves Cosmosis - Contact Man With No Name - Interstate Highway Electric Universe - Unify ?" err... well, first of all, I was talking about Ra cause this was a topic about Norway and Ra was from Norway (and I was unconsciously hoping for the poster of the topic to come in saying something in the lines of "Ra is part of this project" or something). Second of all, no, I don't think that any of the albums you mentioned (except the new MWNN cause I haven't listened to it yet) are closer to oldschool than Ra. Sure, they're all made by people into oldschool from the beginning but they just don't have that oriental-mystical feeling to them any more. Using 303s and multiple layers are not enough criteria to make it oldschool IMO. And to tell you the truth, personally, I find that Green Ohms and Cosmosis are an insult to what they did in the past (GNOTR - Rock Bitch and Cosmosis - Cosmology). EU still has it, but still, you only have like 2 tracks that are really really good on his album. And MWNN I still have to listen to, I hope he won't dissapoint me SMI²LE
khogg
Hmmm... given what you have said about those other albums, I suspect MWNN will disappoint you. Anyway, I wasn't saying those albums had the impact the classics did, or that they were pure oldschool goa, just that they were enough that way that I can personally appreciate them. Anyway, I have no desire to argue about whether an album really is oldschool or not. I do agree that Contact isn't nearly as good as Cosmology or Synergy, but it's better than Dissociation and quite good none the less. I actually like Green Ohms much better than GNOTR - Rock Bitch, but I'm sure most wouldn't agree.
Lemmiwinks
well, I guess we're all entitled to our own opinions BTW I'm just listening to the new MWNN and from everything you've mentioned, I found that the track Visit to the Moon comes closest to that oldschool feeling yiiihaaa!!!!
