One Drop is both Akasha's first release on Free-Spirit Records and the label's first down-tempo release... therefore we are double excited to present you with a fine collection of psychedelic dub and chill tunes that will hopefully re-invigorate once again the chill out side of the Psychedelic Trance scene.

 

One Drop shows Akasha's emerging musical talent through a blend of psychedelia, dub, chill out, urban soundscapes, shamanic trance and tribal forest organic sounds that will lead the soul to a deep voyage into the centre of our consciousness, where we find bliss and harmony within ourselves and the Universe.

 

 

The opening and EP's title tune One Drop elegantly blends dub beats and brasses with trancy leads and build ups, kick-starting our voyage. Jartishus follows with echoes of ancestral voices in a cheerful dub,setting the direction to that voyage. It follows with Man Among The Goat, a more chilled dub with beautiful sax lines that reminds urban soundscapes, further deepening the introspective journey to our inner selves, only to dissolve it with Solar Salutations, joyful psychedelic dub with Indian reminiscences and digital tweakery that brings us to the final stage of our blissful journey, closing the EP with the powerful and mystical Pure Information, beautiful 4 on the floor down-tempo psychedelic trance for those trippy and magical dance floor moments we all love, where we meet our inner selves and embrace togetherness dancing and connecting as One; also confirming Akasha's killer production skills and musical talent. We are already looking forward to the next release, after this beautiful, well crafted debut EP we are sure many will enjoy at every listening.

:: Akasha [biography) ::

 

Behind the face of Akasha lie two individuals, Shane Harris and Babak Rezvani, both determined to share their love of deep, psychedelic music with the world.

 

Babak born in Tehran, Iran has a life long passion for music, playing the flute, saxophone and guitar from a very early age. In recent years his talents have extended to the studio where Akasha now produce their music in Cornwall.

 

Shane from Newtown, Wales has been producing music for over 18 years, working with record labels such as Hustle Recordings, Whoop! Records, Dirtyblue Records and Cuba Recordings. He has also been playing bass, keyboards and guitar for as long as he can remember.

 

Since 2010 the pair have been working together in the Southwest, producing music that combines various worldwide influences, with the results culminating in trippy, down-tempo, psychedelic chilled-out dub.

 

To date, Akasha have worked with Mode-one records releasing the VA Compilation ‘Aeriform’ and ‘Yead to give’ EP also with Dubmission records contributing to the VA Compilation ‘The next mission: part one’.

 

Akasha joined Free-Spirit Records in September 2011.
