Guest Sebastien
Well I have to say that Entheogenic's music is wonderful, one of the best ambient stuff... But the word Entheogenic by itsefl, its greek. It comes from the words: "En Theo Geni" which means: "Made By God". As this music is (made by god) :-) Just this comment from a greek... Keep Psytrance Alive!
Lemmiwinks
well actually, "entheogenic" is a more "refined" term for "psychedellic" (drugs) so I think the artists were thinking about something else when choosing their name... Guest Towelie
there was topic about entheogenic sometime ago and i still think it sucks.
Lemmiwinks
well I actually find it BETTER than Shpongle!! SMI²LE
Guest Mig
Yes so do I! Specially I didn't like that much the second Shpongle album. On the other hand the second Entheogenic went real deep psychedelic.
Guest Towelie
thats your opinion i think entheogenic sounds very amateur and shpongle is much much better, even thou i just wonder how many % of their music is samples but still. Lemmiwinks
Entheogenic's 2nd album has been released on a compilation!! (yeah, I know it's wierd...) Guest KakoOlalaJwal
Spontaneus Illumination has also been released "alone" at the end of August @ C.O.R.N. Records Cheers
Guest J.
Ok, I just found it on - http://www.chaosunlimited.co.uk/ Ambient release of the year!
Guest CosmoNaughty
I saw the advert for Spontaneus illumination as well, checked out the track listing to find it's exactly the same album as side two of Global Psychedelic 9, which seems a bit of a odd thing to do in my personal opinion it's not even that good an album it's got two standout tunes "Invisible landscape" (which has already been released on Module 1) and "Mindless", then the rest of it just descends into this very undynamic psychedelic stew, not really really bad but just a little dull. khogg
Yeah, exactly like the first album. Entheogenic is like a semi-psychedelic version of enigma.
Lemmiwinks
well, I could come and coment that Shpongle is merely a bunch of copy-pasted loops from well-known ethnic music, with a bit of special effects and psychedellicness added to it, and of course, Raja Ram's flute on top... If you ask me, Entheogenic is WAY more creative than Shpongle. SMI²LE
Guest Towelie
entheogenic is also samples and loops but the difference is that the samples in entheoginic dont fit in their tracks and in shpongle they "fit" perfectly
khogg
Well, I'm not shpongle worshiper, but I do like shpongle, and it may very well be true that it's just "a bunch of copy-pasted loops from well-known ethnic music, with a bit of special effects and psychedellicness added to it, and of course, Raja Ram's flute on top." However, I would argue that it has more than just "a bit" of special effects, and it's definitely very psychedelic. Furthermore, I would agree with Towelie that shpongle really fits together to create a really nice trippy overall sound, and most importantly for me, when I listen to it, I don't find myself cringing while listening to that god awful singing that's in most Entheogenic tracks. I actually wouldn't mind their music so much if it didn't having that awful voice in most tracks. I mean they do have a couple of nice songs, so I think they must be capable. Guest cymeth
entheogenic is fantastic. if you belive otherwise, perhaps you should sit down and produce something better? untill then i suggest accepting the new champion of ambience as entheogenic. (no discredit to shpongle intended)
Guest Towelie
"if you belive otherwise, perhaps you should sit down and produce something better?" do you like spice girls ? if you dont maybe you should produce something better? Guest J
He said champion of ambience, - not champion of teeny pop... Towelie - first David Hasselhof and now the Spice girls, you are a real expert in teeny pop, maybe you are on the wrong forum?
