radi6404 Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 I want to get information how to destroy metall, I mean to make it rusty especially. I know that soulacid can do it but what else can do it which is not that acidic and poiseness? And it should be able to make zinc rusty aswell, what would that be? Quote
needle ninja Posted January 25, 2012 Posted January 25, 2012 But radi, rusty metal doesn't have any of those shiny Doom textures! If you really want rusty metal, you need ocean water or a solution that acts upon metals, chemists will know. Quote

If you don't want to use acid. I don't know about zinc - zinc is used to prevent other metals from corrosion, so it seems an unlikely candidate for rust. Quote
abasio Posted January 26, 2012 Posted January 26, 2012 leave it out in the rain for a long time and it'll become rusty. Quote
needle ninja Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Actually I do know of something used by paint and coatings manufacturers. It is called an acceleration chamber and it's used to punish materials as though they were aged many years in a short time. They have caustic agents and a blaster like an air or water blaster that hits the metal to cause chipping and rust. I don't know were you would find one of these or if anyone would let you use one though. Quote
DeathPosture Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 Are you going to make some shiny crash-barriers less shiny? Quote

Veracohr Posted January 27, 2012 Posted January 27, 2012 I don't know what soul acid is. Perhaps if you give a better explanation of what you're trying to do, we can help better, or tell you not to do it. Quote
radi6404 Posted January 28, 2012 Author Posted January 28, 2012 soil acid is an acid that consists of soil that you use to make foot less sweet. Quote
Ormion Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 soil acid is an acid that consists of soil that you use to make foot less sweet. Ehm...WAT? Quote
Veracohr Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 I call bullshit. Radi's fucking with us. Quote
needle ninja Posted January 28, 2012 Posted January 28, 2012 All those shiny Doom textures got to his brain Quote
radi6404 Posted January 29, 2012 Author Posted January 29, 2012 No, I am not kidding. On dictionary it shows muriatic acid, so I am asking if there is milder acid than this. Quote

abasio Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 Bulgaria's shiny crash barriers were so shiny they resembled the textures in the doom games. True story! Quote
Veracohr Posted January 29, 2012 Posted January 29, 2012 No, I am not kidding. On dictionary it shows muriatic acid, so I am asking if there is milder acid than this. Oh, OK. Muriatic acid is another name for hydrochloric acid, and is often sold (at least around my area) in hardware stores as pool cleaner. I think you'd be hard pressed to find something easily that does as good a job. Muriatic acid is usually sold fairly diluted, so it isn't even that strong, although still strong enough to be dangerous if used improperly. Can't help you, sorry. Quote

I think that stuff is strong enough to let metall rust and look like a 2 weeks old salad, deformed by bakteria. Quote
abasio Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I do not want to destroy the beautiful Bulgarian crash barriers. What exactly do you want to do? People would find it a lot easier to give you advice if they knew what it was that you wanted. Quote
needle ninja Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 I thought he wanted to make metal look old. All around Bulgaria all they have is new roads with shiny new crash barriers and Radi longs for the days of rusty metal. Quote
ion1zed Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 What? It's not possible to destroy metal...at least that's what Professor Manowar says all the time. And, Crom, if you do not listen, then to hell with you! Quote
Rotwang Posted January 30, 2012 Posted January 30, 2012 And, Crom, if you do not listen, then to hell with you! Best prayer ever. Quote
RTP Posted March 28, 2012 Posted March 28, 2012 another priceless one ... how could I miss this... Did it work out for you, Radi? Quote
Ov3rdos3 Posted July 12, 2012 Posted July 12, 2012 I have yet to see anything work out for Radi. Quote
