radi6404
So I want to ask this, cause I like to know if other people feel the same or feel different. I am a different person to normal people in some way, since I do not see very well, I see worse then normal people and so my imangination, experiences and feelings when listening to goa trance might be different to the ones of most people who have normal vision. I am not blind but I do not see very well in the distance for example. So when I listen to goa trance, for example Astral Projection, Man with no name or MFG I get very good mood and I feel something at my throat. That only happens when I listen to trance. The melodies heart in trance seem very emotional and somehow energygiving and uplifting to me. As if the artists want to express over the melodies "hey this is the stuff, listen to it and get energy and love. Also I like listening to Goa trance when I am outside or when I think of some girls, the feeling I get with Goa trance is somehow similar to love in some ways. Goa Trance sounds sweet to me, for example when looking at a very cute and sweet dog with short smooth hair and lying ears. That is what a lot of trance gives me, it is always connected with emotion similar to love and energy, maybe that is called euphoria. A lot of tracks connect me to mountains, for example the acidic stuff like Green Nuns of Evolution and a lot of other tracks. Now Astral projection has a very wide effect for me, It sounds very wide and as if you are at the beach and the red sun is going down, just the tracks Mahadeva, Mantra by arrival, Kabalah, People can Fly do that, but a lot more aswell. The later Astral Tracks do remind me of winter, for example Superbooster or Triptomine Dream or Unbelievable Technology sound a lot like winter to me, what do you think about that? Now Simon Posford wakes up some very deep and not that emotional feelings in me, but it is very deep and mysterious. After listening Hallucinogen and going out I sometimes do not know where I am, Hallucinogen wakes up some colors like brown in me and sounds like forest and just wild, but not too wild. I will write more in later posts but now I am interested to hear what you get when listening to trance. I never understand when people say Trance sounds spacey. For me it does not, not a lot of Goa tracks wake up or remind me of the cosmos, you just see stars and planets, not a lot of colors and that is not what I feel when listening to trance. Indeed the early AP tracks are very warm and shiny. The tracks in Another World have a cold feeling. For spacey feeling have you tried Pleiadians-Family Of Light album? radi6404
NO, I do not really want to have spacey feeling like looking into the space.

Veracohr
I feel something at my throat. That's an emotional response related to crying. It happens. I never understand when people say Trance sounds spacey. For me it does not, not a lot of Goa tracks wake up or remind me of the cosmos, you just see stars and planets, not a lot of colors and that is not what I feel when listening to trance. The images that come into people's minds when listening to music or any other thing depend on their personal experiences. I can't relate to what you described, but that's because I've had different experiences than you.
abasio
NO, I do not really want to have spacey feeling like looking into the space. Don't you even get spacey feelings when you listen to Falling Into A Star, Dancing Galaxy or Searching for UFOs?
radi6404
No, I get winter feelings listening to those tracks, I can not get spacey feelings of something that is grey and empty. What is that great in the space I am wondering?
abasio
Your imagination is very earthbound People like the feeling of vastness, of something greater than not just themselves, but of eveything they've experienced. I especially love tracks that make me feel like the last picture: hyperspace
radi6404
it really does depent more on what you have experienced in your life, but the space looks cold to me. I like psytrance that gives me warm feelings. Goa Trance that makes me think I am in an mediterranian landscape like this. However in this picture the mediterranian landscpae is a bit dark cause of poor camera t that time. Hallucinogen - Alpha Centauri or Fluoro neuro Shponge make me think of that or other Hallucingoen. abasio
This is what makes me imagine sunny mediterranean beach scapes. http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ood-muegcNA Perhaps in a hammock or sat at the beach bar. In fact I love this sort of music down at the beach every summer But I guess it is down to experience. I got into goa in week long beach parties with ample time sat under a garland of stars with chill during the day with the sun beating down on you
radi6404
Very nice track abasio, I must look for more Promethus stuff it seems, I did not look into a lot of Promethus lately. But this track to me does not have a real beach atmosphere IMO. IMO the equalizing and the effects and reverb make it more sound like something winterish with candys and so on, the flangers and so on. But other people experience different emotions ofcourse. A beach track IMO is: or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8V3o7GKNlU
abasio
IMO Prometheus does much better chilled stuff than he does upbeat stuff. I've been waiting for a chilled album from him for ages..... Thos two tracks you posted are definitely spacey tracks for me. The first one a hyperspace track and the second an acid inner space track
Veracohr
If anything gives me 'winter' thoughts, it would be Electrypnose's "Sweet Sadness". Not goa of course, but it's very clean and stark sounding which kind of reminds me of winter.
radi6404
So what feelings is goa trance giving to you? Don't tell me it is giving you spacey feelings which I can not understand. Goa Trance is supposed by the artists to give soundscape images like sundowns on another planet and so on. I think altough Another world gives winter feelings it does match the picture you see on the album cover very well, that is what Another World gives me. Hallucinogen - the Lone Deranger for example gives me exactly those dark feelings that can be seen on the album cover, there is a moon and a horse on the picture and that is what the feelings are, a beautiful dark night with mysterious things happening. Veracohr
It really depends on the song, but overall I'd say goa gives me 'psychedelic' feelings. Makes sense, doesn't it?
radi6404
But how would those look? so you do not connect the music to the environment you see?

Veracohr
I don't think I usually picture images when I listen to music. I feel emotions.
abasio
I don't think I usually picture images when I listen to music. I feel emotions. so you don't have synæsthesia then?
Veracohr
No, most people don't. I suppose sometimes things pop into my head, but I guess I don't think much about it.
radi6404
Most people have imagination when listening to music, they say this reminds me of that and so on and i think it is all done to give emotions. For example Pop songs by Nelly Fortado Pop songs often give me feelings of August sundowns and when i talk with people about that they say, yes you are right, it gives such feelings. There are tracks about winter with snowy clips and they do give emotion of a snowy winterday with lots of snow. I love listening to music and having imagination, especially I lvove think about great landscapes or great girls.
abasio
That sounds more like nostalgia/memory than imagination to me. For me imagination is picturing things you have never experienced, that is what goa always did for me: it gave me images of things I'd never done in place I'd never been. I don't need music to remember things I have done, although it does help. I suppose I don't really need music to imagine things anymore either although I find it makes things a whole lot more vivid
Ormion
Music always brings colours and shapes in my mind. Especially Psy/Goa creates fractals in my mind all the time. Syneasthesia to the max.
