Why does this one style of music/scene invite the individual spirit to become so completely absorbed that entire identities are built around it? Is it the magic felt after dancing for 4/5 hours with 1000's of people in some remote corner of the world, enhanced by the smiles and gazes of 'dancing' companions sharing your corner of the dance floor. Brightly dressed girls from the UK, smiling japanese angels, shamanistic 'looking' older hippies adding mystery to the dance space? Youthful european club types, israeli's in poncho's? ....Doof....Doof....Doof....Doof.... Is it re-defining the ancient ritual for today so that the vibration of each individual on the Dance Floor is in Rhythm with the primordial resonance? Is it an attempt to Harmonize the lives of man with the ever expanding universe. Night....Day....Heart....Beat....Seasons....Sleep....Wake....Rhythm...Rhythm...R hythm. Do we desire a new way to comunicate? Is it simply an aspiration to attain that moment of perfection, the moment when we are truely satisfied with ourselves and everything that surrounds us. Or is it Drugs? Is the impulse to escape from intolerable selfhood so strong that this scene acts as a convenient smokescreen to LSD, DMT, Psylocibe out of our current state of awarness to somewhere different.......new? If the doors that open scares people so deeply because their afraid of what we may find if we go in....... why has nobody written down the truth, the one true way! found from this channel? Or maybe they have. Furthermore, music may be the beginning and the end of this wonderful global party scene, intricatly produced layer upon layer of deeply rewarding psytrance impecably mixed can be all that is necessary for the perfect Global Party.....or......That cup of tea on a sunday morning after the shower reading the papers stopping intermitantly to Dance to yourself/with yourself. Possibly it is a combination of these factors for different people at different times, but most interesting of all is the possibility that it is due to some other factor something not mentioned here at all!!!!! I have heard these question's for more than 10 years now.....I can tell you..there's nothing unique with our scene...they feel exactly the same in the house scene, the trip-hop scene ect. Our scene is not the only one where people travel a long way for a good party, where many nationalities meet, where people feel spiritualized. The trance partyes allows the utopic amount of freedom and love and rage and cleverness to be experienced. In my opinion, yes its also about the drugs and the psychedelia experience. otherwise "I" wouldnt be able to understand the true meaning of the psychedelic trance. While im laying face down to the floor, next to a very good friend, hughed by the mother earth and wispered to the ear by the blowing wind, i turn around and see tipis, outside r the indians, dnacing to the beat around the fire and everybody is looking to the central fire wich is talking wisdom words. suddenly a girl starts screaming in a joyfull extasis, its like an explotion of energy that invites everybody to scream, now everybody is screaming and jumping and crying, and their clothes becomes a shining colorfull barbed indian clothing and the ritual begins.
