software oscilloscope recommendations

Title sais it all. I don't mind spending some money aslong as it works nicely. Also would be nice if I could run several channels into the scope at once

yes ofc. exoscope doesn't run on cubase 6 for some reason. I also dl'd sever others such as the blue cat oscilloscope and i have mixed feeling about them, just wanted to see what you guys use/like

No one uses oscilloscopes in music production, that is why you are having trouble.

If you mean audio spectrum analyzer, then I would suggest Voxengo SPAN.

Shame sm exoscope isn't doing it for you, that's what I was going to suggest. I use it in conjunction with Sonogram SG1 to check bass isn't mounting on to the kickdrum.

I second this.

 

An oscilloscope is used for looking at a single-frequency periodic waveform. Not much use in music production. A spectrum analyzer shows relative level of all frequencies across a given range.

i regularly use the oscilloscope (smexoscope) for production. it is a great help for finding problems/optimizing kick/bass.

kick and bass before processing (kbbb with offbass as sub in case you're wondering):

 

kick and bass after eq, sidechain and a little shortening of the kick:

nice and clean.

of course you can do all that by ear, but especially if your monitors/room accoustics aren't perfect for bass frequencies the oscilloscope makes the whole process easier (at least for me). it's always good to double check...

I just use Soundforge pro to see this, but usually people do this by ear.

Soundforge Pro can analyze waves up to 96kHz 32bit.
