Guest Psykick
From a collector point of view, which of these releases do you consider the most valuable ?: Astral - Trust in Trance (TIP) or... Astral - Trust in trance (Substance) Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation (Blue roorm) or... Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation (Substance) Thanks
Guest psyfi
definately the tip and blueroom releases, they are originals. the ones on substance are only re-releases (substance records re-released a whole bunch of classics a few years back)

Lemmiwinks
Sorry but I always found it stupid to prefer "originals" to "re-releases"... I mean, the sound quality and all are exactly the same, so then why the hell prefer one to the other??? SMI²LE
Guest psyfi
did ypu read the topic, lemmi? question for collectors. as a collector you want the original. if you buy your cds only for the music (which doesn't make you less a psyfreak, of course) then it doesn't matter. the sound quality should be the same (in some cases the re-releases are even better)

Guest djcl.ear
releases v/s originals. I gladly found the "Shiva Colours 1" double compilation on Nova-tekk, very happy to -at least- recover the Tip Yellow and orange reissued compliations, together in one volume... Until, recently putting it up into Soundforge sound editor, I found out that it was "remastered". And I dont say this happily because they had decided(around 1999?)to go for the trendy approach of applying plenty of compresion, making the music average volume much higher.... and at the same time sacrificing much of the original Dinamics of the original versions... If you intend to play it in a system with no much reserve power over the volume you need, then its probably OK; it will sound better at the PC, pbbly at the house sound system and at regular PA systems. However if played at good monitoring, real HiFi home systems or at good PA amplification...then it will be at a loss...
Guest Mugge
So how much do you collectors pay in average for an original 12" or compilation from TIP / Dragonfly / Blue room / flying rhino / Matsuri from 94 - 96 in very good condition?
