There's a couple main melody/harmony tracks, bass, drums, and a few background noise sounds. Counting all the drums as one, probably not even 10. I like that where a sequence builds and builds with new sounds to a peak. Quote

killiksan Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 ah its actually not that complicated. you have your main thing going on like drums and base that is about 5-6 tracks. then the main riff melody that goes along with rhythmic psy fx. 1 or 2 additional fx shots thrown in now and then. a track with white noise and there you are with about 12 tracks for 30 seconds of psy. often it sounds more complicated than it is. automations also add to that and might let you get the feeling of 100 things going on there. needle ninja Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Lots of synths have multiple layers to sound more interesting. Some tracks get doubled to add to the stereo effect. It is impossible to tell from just listening how many tracks a producer is using at any given time. Quote
