desperately looking for more madness!

pretty clear title I guess... :)

can anybody give me names of rare/unknown véry psychedelic releases of 2003, I feel I am losing my touch with it... I think most of the releases these days sound boring and all the same (of course there are exceptions), that's why I didn't check all the latest releases... I prefer rather melodic or multi layered dark music... And 303's :)

Thanks :)

ps: please don't come along with stuff like Skazi or something, I don't call it Madness :)

I hear good things about new MWNN album. I haven't heard it yet but it looks like it's what you're looking for. I'll be able to tell you more in few days when I get it in mail.

Have you checked out Skazi yet? :P

The compilation called "Blissful Moments" on Tranceform records has very layered and melodic tracks, although I am not sure if I would necessarily call them "dark" or "madness".

I've also heard a lot of people talking about the new Xenomorph album as being a dark masterpiece, but I haven't heard it myself.

I am personally digging the new Mekkanikka album right now. It is definitely layered and melodic, although it might have a few too many typical full-on moments for what you are looking for.

I would agree with EA/OM on this. The Schlab comps are great... which I'm pretty sure you already have. Also, Steptime's album is amazing... and the Tales from the Dark Forest comp out on Stone Age... it's all crazy swedish forest music :)

Apart from those release, be sure to check these out:

xenomorph - qlippoth [gnostic]

penta - pentafiles [spectral concepts]

va - voices of madness [parvati]

Not exactly what you're looking for, but still pretty good!

I too feel there is a lack of good releases these days... Schlab and Stone Age seem to be doing a good job so far.. but we need more! I have turned a bit to the less melodic, more full on side of night music - penta, audialize... and some morning stuff - logic bomb, tranan, protoculture. Check out Artax, he's pretty good.

Also, I expect great things from the upcoming Membrana album [Wirikuta] and future Sienis releases.

Anoebis I have the same problem altought I play less melodic then you, I only see one solution and that is the scandosound they seem to be one of the few who still make some true mad music.

I found the following to be very good, but I bet you already know them:

V/A - Tales from the Dark Forest (especially Puro - Eyes Wide Shut)

V/A - Orbius Tertius (especially Phyx - Secret and Artifakt - 9 Coins)

V/A - Dilation (especially Broken Toy - Devil's Playground - EXCELLENT morning track!!!)

V/A - Third Trip (Hyper Frequencies - New Order of Noise; Psycotic Micro - Grave Digger)

Xenomorph - Qlippoth (Tzelmawet is pure oldshool 96 style!! and Hunter's a remix of The Slimaki Murder Tool kit, but it sounds even better than the original)

Divinorum - Talisman well, this one's actually released in 2000 but it's VERY rare so you might not know it, it's very oldschoolish

LSD - A Trip Into Another World, this one's released in 2002 and it's the same artist as behind Divinorum, but this album's more on the mellow morning side (Bodh Gaya and Feuerhake style). It's very nice for those afternoon hours, especially the track "Can You Hear?" and "ISMS part II" (which IMO is MUCH better than Isms Part I released on Psychoactive Scandosounds)

and, IMO the most innovative newcomers of 2003, Electrypnose!! They released 3 (!!) albums this year. I heard 2 of them, Reve de Neige and Perdu Au Millieu de Nulle Part and I loved both!! their music really takes you on a journey

well, I hope that there's at least ONE track here that you don't know yet... :-)

Duodenum - Schlab has consciously poor production. I think Dave is behind that idea because his BotFB stuff is also low-production, while Ka-SoL's stuff on other labels is more produced. Just think of it as "punk psy" and you'll feel better about it.

Alek - Can't WAIT for the Sienis release! Will Membrana be similar?

I personally wasn't impressed by Parvati's Voices of Madness disk. I thought it was kinda boring in that full-on boring way.

Moahaha, yes and no Schlab dont have poor production. Except for the Zoon-tracks (which I admit to having poor production, but still kicks ass) everything sounds just the way its supposed to sound. Even the cut outros are supposed to sound the way they do.

Ka-SoL does the mastering for all the Schlab comps, so when someone else releases Ka-SoL the mastering isnt what they want it to be, ie dirty. :)

Peace, love and pitbulls.

i think xenomorph is the best artist out right now because all the other stuff sounds the same, psy/goa is a type of music that has to evolve and change or else it will get booring, there are probly alot of other artists that are doin that but i only know of xenomorph
