Ormion
My best friend is a metalhead and I was always jealous of the fancy, deluxe digipaks in some metal releases. I feel sad that we don't have that in psytrance. I get that metal scene in more popular so labels can make those without losing money, but still. The only one I can think of is Space Tribe-Shapeshifter. You can fold the cover into a pyramid. Pretty cool. There are other nice looking stuff like 3D Story by 3D Vision which is very shiny, but it's still a regular digipak. Do you know anything else? Sideffect...
Something like discographies or? with extra material if you buy it? A dvd or extra footage...
Ormion
Something like this or this Something more than just a cardboard and a cd. Like extra booklet or some gimmick. Like Ultimae's cds.
Ormion
I will also add the Eternity series. They come in a case and have a booklet with the story behind the tracks.
Sideffect...
Indeed, I thought you meant this, just checking, I know them from famous rock artist... Collectors items, mostly remastered, extra pic's etc... It would be nice, for artist who have been creating goatrance in the early 90's and still are producing... I have always seen those releases for the like 'super fans' with a lot of money , (no criticism), because those fans probably have most of the cd's already original... Space tribe is one of those who has enough releases. And are they all remastered or original mastering (just wondering). I don't think they should be remastered... draeke
Well you have a lot of Digipack releases from the 90s from Nova Tekk and all the related labels and then you have this "metallic" case : http://www.discogs.com/Various-Telecom-331-ltExtension-10gt/release/52302 some fluo cd cases: http://www.discogs.com/Various-Distance-To-Goa-4/release/51946 This one also has some holograms http://www.discogs.com/Various-Progressive-Trance-Tracks/release/217834 this one has something that you move the case and the shell changes http://www.discogs.com/Various-3D/master/14251 this one has an hologram too http://www.discogs.com/Various-Cosmic-Conspiracy/release/99023 this one had a green fluo case http://www.discogs.com/MFG-The-Prophecy/release/166085 this originally came in a red/orange flue case as well http://www.discogs.com/Various-Electronic-Planet-Vol-3-East-Edge-Sampler/release/2181492 this one has a very big booklet as well and more recently the Ubar Tmar package: http://www.discogs.com/Ubar-Tmar-Ubarpedia/release/3718780 not that any of these release is affordable or easy to be found but well that's the list of special packages that I can think of. draeke
Ah Elias yeah I forgot about that, but I suppose now we mentioned all, more or less There are of course the Japanese releases that have nice graphics and or cool design but not special digipacks. The only exception I can think of is: TIP Clear http://www.discogs.com/Various-MU-Clear-Compilation/master/37218 and Heavy Mental Music that also has a special package and quite neat (this one not from japan) http://www.discogs.com/Various-Heavy-Mental-Music-Vol-1/release/72860
Penzoline
I highly dislike digipaks because they will wear over time way too easily. Limited copies though I don't mind since they are nice for the collector souls that treat them well.
