Guest TIRED :(

i listen less and less psytrance, cause i have listened to too much of it.

I become almost "unsensitive", i need your help!

Tracks i would like to hear more like :

Vibrasphere - Echo plantation,

Chi-AD - Anno domini,

i know these 2 tunes are different, but they are both deep.

Any recommendations?

thanx ;)

I recommended to you all tracks from Chi Ad, deep and hypnotic psytrance...

In same style for Vibrasphere, you can check Ticon, Son Kite, Noma, Genetic Spin and Shiva Chandra (progressive, minimal and dark)

Some of people is boring with full on (Astrix, Alien Project, GMS etc...) No creative, no news...

Perhaps with the new projects, like Psydrop, Fractal Glider, Cyber Cartel etc...

Peace

Um... I wouldn't say those projects are more innovative (with the exception perhaps of Fractal Glider). There are lots of threads and talks around... there still good psy trance around... you just need to dig deeper...

man same for me ..

i listen less+less psytrance the last months ..

but is there psytrance ?

the majority of the releases are full-on or progressive psytrance ..

i dont like fullon neither progressive(the majority of the releases).

last cd i bought:

kiwa - dreamtime encacher (can't remember the title very well)

Psy-Harmonics Volume 5 - Experience

this cd is a true experience. .. the mix of guitar-songs with electronica is fabulous ..

the bad thing in this scene is that 90% of the labels release music only for parties, which has a bad affect on production and quality of the music.

peace,love+having fu(n)k :)

Check Haldolium, it's not full on and not proggy.. It's more minimal and deep ambient psychedelic trance.

Well, full on is the new sound of psytrance

If you want really psytrance, check astral projection, cosmosis, infected mushroom (old works), the muses rapt (great... emotional psytrance, very deep and melodic, genius !!) etc...

Why wouldn´t you be(tired)?

My guess is that a lot of listeners, Djs and ultimately musicians... have lost the perspective that this music is for transformation.

Almost as music for special crossroads.... why wouldnt you move to excellent afrika Bambaata music?...or whatever other style there is?.

But then if its trance when you shave, at the car, at coctels, all parties, while having intimate conversations, while looking at a beautiful sunset ...or everything else... then you are doomed to be tired... and I bet you also wont go as deep when you trance...

'Cause there are much more to the human being than a particular vibe...

My appreciation of other kinds of music has enriched my musical habilities and my listening and playing...

And Psytrance is really a big part of my life...for quite a long time...

And I am not bored at all.

--------In fact, I have so many great things to do,

so little time----------

There are so many dimensions outhere and so many different ships...If you want to enjoy a skin-on day at the beach...it wont feel the same if you cross it in a jet...

Hrmm yeah the trance side is a bit lame, it's all so serious now, no more fun like the goa days... but chill out, downtempo and pure ambient is amazing... I think in these area is the future of true psy music ;)

Upps

I guess I was tired of many hours over the PC...

When above says:

"Why wouldn´t you be(tired)?

My guess is that a lot of listeners, Djs and ultimately musicians... have lost the perspective that this music is for transformation."

was intended to say;

Why wouldn´t you be(tired) OF LISTENING TO PSY AT ALL TIMES?

My guess is that a lot of listeners, Djs and ultimately musicians... have lost the perspective that this music is MOSTLY for transformation AND NOT FOR EVERYDAY EVERYMOMENT SOUNDTRACK.

Only reading it today I found out that the original phrasing could be easily misunderstood.

...maybe I wont allow myself to get to that tiredness in the future...maybe I will...this slipping is registered though.

I totally agree and understand what you're saying...

But I also understand djcl.ear when saying: why wouldn't you be tired of something when listening to the same type of music 24/7...

The thing is, for me anyway, that todays psytrance is miles away from that oldschoolsound which I adored so much. The only psyalbum I've totally enjoyed the last couple of years is Psydrops latest "Fantasy seeds" and Fractal Gliders "Parasite"...

And for me this music has the formula which I always enjoy the fullest:

Fast, steady beat with lots of melodies and hopefully psychedelic aswell :)

So for me, music has to have theese ingredients if they should have the most potential power to be appreciated by me (ofcourse I enjoy ambient and such aswell sometimes when relaxing, but mostly the music I enjoy the most consists of thoose formulas I mentioned above. I also think the oldschoolsound was abandoned much too soon and could have been developed much further instead of turning into todays technoinfluensed trancemusic).

My roots are synthmusic (synthpop and EBM) and for the last couple of years when I, just as you, got tired of todays psytrance I began to explore that type of music to see if it had evolved. To my surprise I found out that there is a new genre of synthmusic called Futurepop labeled by the UK band VNV Nation (www.vnvnation.com) which started with EBM and got more tranceinfluensed therefor came up with this new word, Futurepop. Today, Futurepop is the most popular genre of synthmusic and new bands are born everyday as we speak. Futurepop has all thoose formulas I'm so fond of + vocals! You should definately check it out.

Here's a camrecorded clip from a party in Sweden/Gothenburg (www.sama.mu) held every year. Don't expect any highqualitypictures though, but you can get a pretty good idea of their music and the great energy of their performances:

Other Futurepopbands recommended are:

Hocico - www.hocico.com - Mexico

Assemblage 23 - www.assemblage23.com - US

Icon of coil - www.iconofcoil.com - Norway

Colony 5 - www.colony5.com - Sweden

Z Prochek - www.zprochek.com - Sweden

Hope you find any of interest, and it would be nice to hear what you think :)

Futurepop?

That is a very attractive concept.

I remmember how pleased I was when I found tracks within this frame.

Like Intastella's "Dream some paradise"

or Opus III "Fine day", have you seen this video...still untapped by many...so many.

'Erp sorry if I am talking about different music here. I haven't visited the sites you mention above. I will in the next hours, this is just a fast passing.

You talk about "Fast, steady beat with lots of melodies and hopefully psychedelic aswell :)" and well, I would say atmospheres, surprise, someone said FUN, colors, delicacy or strenght, dinamics, modulation, sometimes darkness sometimes light, others mixing both...

My emphasis above was in that all kinds and styles of music can be great,; there´s garbage(things I dont like) either at classical or at psy, as there are greats either at Heavey Metal or at Rap.

Each style is like a different language to me, and cannot be judged as such. You may dismiss the phrasing constructed with those...or the attunement to your moments....

And this is a good point...opennes to other vibrations for different moments...there's a lot of incredible talent out there...

Have you been closely present at a small ensemble of strings classical concert? or do you remember your mother singing to you when you were a baby?

Or the rush of a direct inspired electric guitar playing...

To through it all away from your experience because of the (whatever huge) impact of recent music???...can be very weary.

I say this as a little memory of our GARDEN.

Sorry, classical, heavy metal or rap just doesn't do it for me..

I listened to some Metallica and Panthera when I was younger and have to admit that Ministrys latest album is kinda fat once in a while, but it is never like trancemusic. Trance has much more of different levels then this kind of music (I'm speaking of oldschool trance now).

Rap...? The whole concept with howling fellas, slackerjacks doesn't suit me at all..

Classical.. Maybe for relaxing, but never the same as energetic electronical, fast music. I prefer electronical ambient if I'd like to relax to some music.

As I see it there are different types of people just as different types of music. People that can appreciate all kinds of music equally much. And thoose who, like me need thoose formulas to get off by. Then there are ofcourse many other types of people. Even thoose who doesn't appreciate music at all..

But I'm strong in my personality and has always been a music lover. I've always, in my 30 years of age been open minded to try new types of music. I know what gets me the chills. :)

For classical music; there's lots to discover. Though I dont know precisely some of the names that I really like.

For slow but fully deep and creative sounds check Arvo Part's Frates in both diffferent versions.

And also check Sofia Gubaidulina, "Concerto for Viola"

reviewed at Bob Neill's article, "Profundity and Contemporary Classical Music"

at http://www.positive-feedback.com/Issue2/neillmusic.htm

And in rap I sometimes spin Gumbo's "Dropping soulful H20 on the fiber" Album or Arrested Development's "20.000 years, days and" one.

As in Metal Rock sort of Psy tranced go to Noise Unit 1997 work or listen Mr Bungle's Disco Volante or others...

I am not connosieur, but I appreciate a lot when I meet one, and is keen to drive me thru the music collection...whether this is Jazz, contemporanean, or mostly whatever language.

Then I search for the moment "Maybe for relaxing", driving, for the mood or whatever activity, and I learn to see more aspects in music thanks a lot from that varied listening.

Otherwise I'd feel tired :( or bored...

Peace

Kristian: rap isn't all "howling fellas & slackerjacks" ... check out aesop rock's "labor days" among others. there is a big hip-hop underground here in the US where rapping is more poetic, they actually have a message aside from BLING BLING.

as for psytrance, yeah i'm with pretty much everyone here in that the more commercial labels are getting pretty old. you do have to dig deep to find the good stuff. one of my favorite finds is the electrickery compilation on tempest records, very good stuff. also a lot of american psy (stuff on the ceiba label for example) is very good, seeing as how none of it here is made for profit's sake.
