radi6404 Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 So I really listen a lot to this master of Bulgarian Makedonian Folk music, he produces very calming songs, he sings usually lyrics from old Bulgarian makedonian folk songs, about drinking, passing mountains and rivers, about how he tries to get women and something like that, but those texts are mostly not written by him but from old songs, he has a few songs with own lyrics. Anyway he has great sound and is sooo calming, the instruments and the use of him and the mixing aktually give me free summer feelings and those feelings are not that far from goa trance. He is one of my favourite artists and I listen to him quite often, what do you think of him? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzFkU0SEkt4&list=PLF5965D2B1F3DB2CD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlKJHzNmB4E&list=PLF5965D2B1F3DB2CD http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzFkU0SEkt4&list=PLF5965D2B1F3DB2CD http://wwww.youtube.com/watch?v=e4LTyGQ-7UM http://wwww.youtube.com/watch?v=TM9_Z7ooYhY Quote
Manuser Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 i know radi, i was just clowning around as always by the way, i genuinely think this music is beautiful, i always liked melodies from the eastern europ, sounds deep, with emotions, soul. Quote
Manuser Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 This gif made my day haha i knew it would make someone's day that's why i posted it (no offence to radi), best gif i have seen in a while Quote
Imba Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 by the way, what's psychedelic about this guy ? His suit, a bit of Simon Posford Quote
radi6404 Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 The sound is psychedelic, it sounds summerish and very fresh. The beginning of Ai da idem Iano v gornia poroi sounds a bit psychedelic. I at least think it is very good music. Quote
radi6404 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 Why no comments about this great music? For me it has a very relaxing effect. Quote
Rotwang Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 The music is nice enough, but I don't like the guy's voice. But then I prefer my folk/world music with female vocalists anyway: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M-Mn4vWhjQ8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9gCN9-Jnfg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8pR9Fi9j47o https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN_LVJ_gH8c Quote
radi6404 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 The music is very nice, what language is it, I don't recognise it. I don't think Volodia Stojanov has a bad voice, but anyone has it's views. Paradox, the music reminds of Man with no name - Earth moving the sun and Teleportation and of Astral Projection - In the mix. Quote
Rotwang Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 The music is very nice, what language is it, I don't recognise it. Who, me? The first track is in Farsi (probably), the third is in Finnish (probably), and the other two are in English. I don't think Volodia Stojanov has a bad voice Nor do I, it's just not to my taste. Quote
radi6404 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 I know the two are English, what nationality are you, Finish? Quote
Rotwang Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 I know the two are English, Sorry. I didn't mean to patronise you, it's just that folk artists often use archaic language and I don't know how recognisable that is to a non-native speaker. what nationality are you, Finish? I'm British. I'm only familiar with the Finnish band because of this internet meme. Quote
Richpa Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Some of my favorites that I really like, check them out: Hungary: Germany: The Netherlands Croatia Quote
radi6404 Posted May 29, 2013 Author Posted May 29, 2013 you should also say something about Volodia Stoianov, since the thread is about him or related things, not just post your own tracks. Rotwang said he does not like his voice and posted what he likes, but you did not even notice him it seems. Quote
Richpa Posted June 2, 2013 Posted June 2, 2013 Yes Radi, the third one that Rotwang posted, "Eroskummainen Kantele" is by a Finnish group. Kantele is Finland's national instrument and it's used in the song. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kantele I love that instrument, this track got it i think. http://youtu.be/bEBx1qMfjkA?t=2m37s Quote
radi6404 Posted September 12, 2013 Author Posted September 12, 2013 I want to put up the thread again so the new users can look at it and decide whether they like the music. In my opinion Volodia Stojanov is a bit psychedelic in sound, especially reminding me of Etnica. The sounds he uses have a bright touch, similar to the touch of the synthlines, Etnica is using. Quote
JISNEGRO Posted September 12, 2013 Posted September 12, 2013 I must be getting deaf because I can not establish the parallel between him and Etnica Quote
Manuser Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 I must be getting deaf because I can not establish the parallel between him and Etnica sounds more like Koxbox to me ... Quote
Richpa Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 Nah, it reminds me on early Electric Universe... Quote
Padremac Posted September 13, 2013 Posted September 13, 2013 adding some Polish folk: http://w174.wrzuta.pl/audio/6c9MpvBt8xt/orkiestra_sw._mikolaja_-_piesn_sobotkowa Quote
radi6404 Posted August 31, 2014 Author Posted August 31, 2014 I want to put up this thread again so we remember this guy and his fantastidc music. I just listened to the music again and I think it has a lot of power and sounds very insightful. It is definatly happy and stimulating music, great for the evening, but it can fit even when you travel played by an mp3 player. The music is pretty complex and has a lot of harmony in it. Somehow this music gives me vey deep feelings and power. The quality of the music is so good that it feels like an evening where people have come together to a special event and have a great evening.
