Lemmiwinks Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Just went to see this and it's fucking A material! Ok, some bits are a bit WTF?, well it's the same director who made Moulin Rouge so you have this mix between old elements and modern stuff, like a party trown in the 1920 with Jay-Z playing... But the story is really nice, on of the very rare movies that is worth actually paying to see it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rARN6agiW7o Quote
exotic Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Saw it last night , found the direction to be a little odd for a story-line like that, i guess it would have been better if the director had stuck to theater based opera musicals instead of ruining what could have been a great movie. Found it too plain and lacking in character development. I hope martin scorcese had got his hands on the script. Output would have been very different Quote
needle ninja Posted May 25, 2013 Posted May 25, 2013 Just another remake to me. Although I love the looks of Carey Mulligan's short flapper hair I know they would never do the novel justice. This review is all I need to know http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/tv-movies/great-gatsby-movie-review-article-1.1339361 Quote
