Guest rx7style
The production quality is great, but the album generally lacks musical grace I think... no ebb & flow. On that note, I really don't get why in most tracks there are some parts that sound VERY good (very musical, natural, and logical sounding), and then it's off-set by something that sounds stupid/hokey/cheesy like nasty club-trance'esque synths. I don't really know what Raja Ram is doing with this one, but it's all summed up in the remix of Money For Nothing by Dire Straits which I found to be highly annoying. Unless it grows on me, I'd say, please try again TIP World!! What does everyone else think?
Guest Mike D
I take it as it's probably meant, a whole lot of fun and not to be taken seriously at all... just like the first album, it's sad that trance is so serious now, can't have fun anymore, not good unless it is "dark and fucking tripp MAN!!" this album is classy and fun, lots more thanks TIP Kicks Shpongle Remixes from here to hell, twisted are on the way down... Guest rx7style
Hmmm, quite frankly I enjoyed several of the tracks. For example, Speed Of Light, Renaissance Superman, and Language Of The Future. I personally don't like overly "dark and fucking tripp MAN!!" music myself... But I thought a lot of the things in this album I didn't like were exactly the opposite of what you said... classy??? No no, but fun, sure. Yes, I think this album on the whole is better than the Shpongle remixes, but that's comparing two dissimilar things. But no, I don't think Twisted is on it's way down. Maybe you consider that Twisted has released mostly classic/killer/groundbreaking albums. So anything that doesn't follow suit is considered "shite" even if it's way better than most on the market, but comparatively to it's own superhuman brethren it's not. It's tough to beat music that people love so much... it's way way way easier to disappoint. However, I think of it as this. Remove all albums you've heard before in your life, then listen to your brand new album. This is really impossible to do, but if you try, you'll find you won't be disappointed as easily. I try to let music evoke thoughts and emotions that I enjoy and would want to experience again. If I like a new track, who cares if it's not as "this" or "that" as another track I've heard. That's not important. But if an album has sounds that BOTHER me, or are UNPLEASANT to listen to even the FIRST time... why spend time listening to it when you could listen to something else that doesn't annoy you! I thought this album had too many annoyances, although subtle.
Lemmiwinks
"there are some parts that sound VERY good (very musical, natural, and logical sounding), and then it's off-set by something that sounds stupid/hokey/cheesy like nasty club-trance'esque synths" well, I gather that the good parts are Raja Ram's contribution and that the stupid/hokey/cheesy sounds are GMS trying their overdone formula again...
