GagaISM
Time is not always gentle on the heroes of yesterday. I remember being totally infatuated with The Gathering back when it came out, only to find it a bit too cartoonish today. It's almost like they've become the Prodigy of Trance or something. Any thoughts?
darkill
Im not fully agree with saying they have becoming somehow commercial. Yes, they have changed of style, it's undeniable. However it wasn't always a "bad" change or something that sounded commercial then. The perfect example is the "The other sides" of converting vegetarians. A lot of matter of taste, but I personnaly loved it. This is a complete different style since it's experimental, but it weren't commercial then. But now I've to say that with their dub step stuff they are becoming somehow a bit commercial. However their last album, Army of mushroom, weren't a bad album to me. I found that it were a great mix of dubstep, psychedelic trance, drum n bass and other stuff. What is sure is that for goa / psytrance lover as us, we will never has something better than their 2 first album from them.

Ormion
Both The Gathering and Classical Mushroom are two of the best albums ever made, so yes.
Paul Eye
I never really liked either of those albums. Well, Release Me is still a good track for letting off some steam (it's like the definition of ripping screaming in-your-face synth leads, and kickdrums, and heavy metal guitars), and Return Of The Shadows is good too, and Mush Mushi to some extent. The rest is a bit too messy and all over the place and there are some things I can't really explain about those 2 albums that simply annoy me. I'm selling those albums on Discogs, anyone wanna buy them ;D
Tatsu
I was never a big fan of The Gathering but Classical Mushroom is imho still a masterpiece. And I still do listen to it once in a while.

Drosophila
I would vote rarely, but I do still enjoy the old stuff. One of my favourites is Where is S? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hKOzfyvtriY another good one from the "classical era" Classical Mushroom (the track) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbPkSh3MBz4

Muerto
Classical Mushroom is, in my opinion, a fucking masterpiece. In general, I adore and I'm a huge fan of their earlier albums. I basically grew up with them. After IM the Supervisor, they went to absolute shit, unfortunately. It's such a sad sight. How they could go from all that to spastic dubstep/house/D'n'B crap is beyond me.

I know I know, considering an album as shit don't means you think every track of the album are poor, but that's almost it, and Heavyweight is a great track

radi6404
Infected mushroom wre true gods and they still are in what they are doing, altough we do not like it. they are different to other musicians but the early tracks they created have such a musical diversity and complexity that I don't see anyone matching them soon. The Messanger is one example of that, I don't think there are a lot of tracks in electronic music that have that level of sound. Same with DAncing to Kaddafi Elation Station And many others, they are gods and know that.
Shpongled247
Um what exactly are they true gods in that they are doing now Radi? They are a bad joke at best in the genres they are trying to write in now even... Also, voted yes because sometimes I go back to those albums.. The novelty doesn't last long though for me. If I was into them when those albums came out I can see how they would be a great introduction.

psytones
Yay, of course. Actually, I listened to "The Missed Symphony" before entering this forum for a read and seeing this vote. And I am playing a half-an-hour DJ-set at a party this weekend after Metal-bands are done with their concerts.I'm gonna play GuitarPsy and the IM track "None of This is Real" is of course on my playlist of awesome tracks to play for the Metal/Psy-headz Also Holeg & The Spies, which can be rough.I dream of the day I will be able to hear a Hallucinogen remix of IM's unreleased killer, Twisted; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nxyCDorNAYY ... The parts with voice are not really my cup of tea, but the melodies they created are the most complex melodies together with simon posford that exist in psychedelic electronica in my opinion. Just listen Shakawkaw, what a melody, really complex melody work, they are true musicians and know what tehy are doing for sure. They are just very crazy, taht is all, but the music is extremly intelligent.
