radi6404 Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 What do you think about te happy crying in trance and ambient? It appears a lot in shpongle and Ott and I really like it. It gives me a feeling as if there is someone there who listens the music and is crying because he is very happy about the music. they always choose special voices, who are crying and it sounds very magic and somehow mystic. For example the beautiful track ineffable mysteries by shpongle, the Indian man cries there really loud with reverb in the background at 8 35 and seems very happy. What do you think about it. Quote
Lemmiwinks Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 it depends a LOT on your personal feelings at the moment, but there are some gems around there, too bad people these days concentrate on fast tracks instead of stuff with some feeling in them... my favorite "crying song" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryxVWxNZJ_8 Quote
radi6404 Posted July 8, 2013 Author Posted July 8, 2013 That is a great song Lemmiwinks, the synthsounds are nice aswell on this song. Quote

What do you think about it. I don't think the man is crying. He is singing an Indian classical raga, which in full range can bring out emotions in a listener. Quote
little_sister Posted July 8, 2013 Posted July 8, 2013 Hmm I never really thought about how the crying sound makes me feel... I do like it -- like you say, Radi, it usually feels imbued with magic, powerfully emotional My favorite "crying" track at the moment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pP59jZAx5cw Koxbox Go Fly a Kite Quote

FatKidWitAJetPak Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 This album constantly makes me cry, because it is an expression of raw, untainted emotion in its purest form. It reminds me of the world inside my head, the world that no one ever can see until I show them. This is why I make ambient music, because I feel it is the only way I can show just how I feel. Sigur Ros does a wonderful job at combining the talents of their beautiful compositions with the artistic expressions of many worlds. There are multiple perspectives in their music, each with a different story. They decided to play the album "Valtari" all across the globe, on top of smoky African volcanoes, inside icy caverns in Antarctica, through grassy hills of New Zealand, and hundreds of other places. In these places, they presented a series of animations and movies created by hundreds of volunteers who shared their visions with the world. This is one of them, and it definitely makes me cry. Quote
Veracohr Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 I thought this thread was going to be about actual crying sounds in the music, and I thought "who the hell would put crying in trance?" Quote
Neurosect Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 not cryiing..but always get chills when i listen these ones..i can post more later though Quote

But what's the connexion with crying ? lol Quote
Manuser Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 not cryiing..but always get chills when i listen these ones..i can post more later though i think you didn't read the radi's post correctly ; ) Personnally i'm not fond of these crying things especially in Shpongle music, sounds very cliché Quote
radi6404 Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 What do you mean by that? It sounds bad for you? Quote
Manuser Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 sounds cliché, i mean sounds quite cheesy, old, lol. But it really depends in which track. Quote
radi6404 Posted July 9, 2013 Author Posted July 9, 2013 There are many elements in shpongle that are cheesy in my opinion, especially the second album is sometimes ahrd to listen to when you are not open. But those cheesy things make it more interesting I think. Around the world in a tea daze is a very cheesy track for example. Shpongle could use less cheesy samples for sure, but the crying in some songs like ineffable mystereis is not one of them. Quote

Manuser Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 for you radi, angelic particles, the voice is crying ? i always liked that track a lot Quote
