What do you think about te happy crying in trance and ambient? It appears a lot in shpongle and Ott and I really like it. It gives me a feeling as if there is someone there who listens the music and is crying because he is very happy about the music. they always choose special voices, who are crying and it sounds very magic and somehow mystic. For example the beautiful track ineffable mysteries by shpongle, the Indian man cries there really loud with reverb in the background at 8 35 and seems very happy. What do you think about it.

I don't think the man is crying. He is singing an Indian classical raga, which in full range can bring out emotions in a listener.

But it sounds as he is crying in happyness because of the shpongle song.

This album constantly makes me cry, because it is an expression of raw, untainted emotion in its purest form. It reminds me of the world inside my head, the world that no one ever can see until I show them. This is why I make ambient music, because I feel it is the only way I can show just how I feel. Sigur Ros does a wonderful job at combining the talents of their beautiful compositions with the artistic expressions of many worlds. There are multiple perspectives in their music, each with a different story. They decided to play the album "Valtari" all across the globe, on top of smoky African volcanoes, inside icy caverns in Antarctica, through grassy hills of New Zealand, and hundreds of other places. In these places, they presented a series of animations and movies created by hundreds of volunteers who shared their visions with the world.

This is one of them, and it definitely makes me cry.

I thought this thread was going to be about actual crying sounds in the music, and I thought "who the hell would put crying in trance?"

There are many elements in shpongle that are cheesy in my opinion, especially the second album is sometimes ahrd to listen to when you are not open. But those cheesy things make it more interesting I think. Around the world in a tea daze is a very cheesy track for example. Shpongle could use less cheesy samples for sure, but the crying in some songs like ineffable mystereis is not one of them.
