Bus?

And another good question; What was BUS up to in the last years? or when/where is going to be available?

I know Zen Lemonade is just a partial answer and probably an exploration into other music areas.

As I know sometime somewhere more of his AMAAAAAA-ZINGGG music will be released. (I happened to listen to some works he did with Pete Martin and it is simply u-n-bel-i-e-v-a-b-l-e).

I was yesterday doing again the Microtest to an unknowing friend...with the same results as always.

The Microtest; put any of his tracks on a sound editor with a good sound-wave graph augmenting capacity and go to see microlevels...

Either watch the wave shape in a still mode or let it move shifting wave sizes, and the actual drawing is ALWAYS very different from any other kind of psytrance, let alone other music styles.

BUS sound shapes have a distinctive cleanliness and beautiful shape, together with slight variations in the positions of sounds ...

Two aspects stand very different; sounds never squarely repeat in timing and position(like in simple loops), always showing variation.

And whether is a crowded passage or not, the sound waves dont get the simple caotic shape usually seen when just a few several instruments play together.

Any other music I've tested against fails to show something like this, however minimal, acoustic or full freqs.

...And to achieve that, while doing multiple layered music with colourful instruments and all those effects... My guess is that it needs a very delicate fidgeting and tunning of most sounds...

No wonder that this music can get to be played VERY LOUD and the sounds will pass thru you, like aural images and it doesnt feel tiring like other raw sounds(dirty hihats, tipical basic Balearic sounds).

If you have not experienced nothing like this, mostly any sound editor will show it, or get yourself a good CD copy of mostly any other BUS track and also locate the best sound quality sound system near you and turn up de volume, to 80% or such... and enjoy.

This is the subtlest engineering can get...

Notice I dont say composing or arranging if you Twisted/others listeners jump at it. Uhmm Greg Hunter is getting closer each time...

When are we gonna learn???

Yeah I would agree, I still rate him as one of the best dj's I have ever seen and puts most Progressive acts to shame-he was doing all this well before anybody tried making progressive psy trance-wasnt he supposed to release a cd back 2 years ago ????

That title was a flashy way to say the "have fun everytime" moto, plus the "body as a ship".

Mostly for fun I guess...

Whatever he is doing now, great or not, does not dimishes the incredible effort displayed at the 97-99 years... from when, tracks made account for more than 2 albums...though they are very difficult to reunite from many distant compilations and eps...even some are not credited at all to a related name of his.

Also some were never issued in CD format...

Many things would have been(can we talk in conditional terms?) different if some EPs were given the adequate support and respect; including releasing them at CDsingle format and specially sharper promotion.

Come to mind:

-Slinky wizard "Hit & Run" "Beautiful" and "Fist"remixes

-Loop & Digit "Mephisto's child" remixes

-Atmos "Klein A Doctor" remixes

-Bus & Slide "Everyday" remixes

To name just a few

Anyway they stood as future music suspended in a babble waiting for someone to realize and find a proper release. Like some others at 97-99 FRhino catalogue.

Maybe in some future we see a double-CD sort of "Psytools" concept including all those remixes... as opposed of those compromised and nonfocused Re:evolutions mixed CDs.

..Uhmm if I reread this post I might understand if someone comes with... What is this guy saying??

...Ok, its like if you are a Dj and want to gather a music set of... lets say Yumade/Paps sounds, then there are plenty of close different releases and Spiral Trax or Flow or a few other labels have enough of it out already...

The same happens with other sounds like 3D or GMS or other popular ones.

However with BUS special sound it was always very difficult or too sparse to gather. I actually remmeber Velocity as the only album to make a little focused justice to that sound.

////////And now a lot of Psytrancers are tired of superficial Full On or of getting-nowhere-progressive... when BUS provided deepness together with lush progressiveness and space without having to miss the complexity of layers and the superb composition.

Not Psychedelic enough? what is a "Fistfull of Mutants" or many others then? ...

Oldschool? nope. Simple minimalism? neither.

IMO Beyond that.

But of course, not many have heard this music to even have an opinion...
