Goa Travellers
Hello, Trance tracks usually have a high-pitch sine wave melody such as here or here. Any name for these kinds of melodies? (it's not a lead, it's not a bass or a string...). Thanks,
Goa Travellers
Here's another example. Beautiful...

Goa Travellers
The most common way to achieve it is through self oscillation of the filter, right?
Padmapani
i have experimented with this some time ago and found it best to just take high pitched saws/squares and filter them down to nearly a sine wave. you can also use a sine oscillator, but otherwise you can add a bit of attack with the envelope or add a bit of character by opening the filter up a little bit. GagaISM
There's quite a few of them on Astral Projection's Another World album.

Triangles are better imo, but still, I would rather take a sine from a digital synth with an actual sine osc than an analog triangle, for a more "true" sine feel. Imho, of course. Imba
Inspired by MWNN i tried to make something in his style with sine wave melody, here is result: http://www18.zippyshare.com/v/51299102/file.html I think i also made bass smiliar to his
Goa Travellers
Oh, man, this is pretty good, and sound quite MWNN!! Only suggestion is emphasizing the kick drum, and adding pre-delay to the high hat. Nice bass and nice sinewave as well!! I wonder what Martin Freeman would think if he found out we've come close to his style, ah ah!!
