Oopie
A couple classics have to be omitted as they're not coherent as a whole (IFO for example... I think Alcyone and Electra are easily the best ones on it!) so my list is as follows: Bypass Unit - Dropz Of Obscure Eclipses Cosmosis - Cosmology (more coherent than Synergy althou both are great) Etnica - Live In Athens 96 Hallucinogen - Twisted (as the years go by my appreciation for this album grows. Ahead of everybody in 95!) Electric Universe - One Love Astral Projection - Trust In Trance Texas Faggott - Petoman's Peflett (Remains my suomisaundi favorite for years) Nervasystem - Time Travel Indoor - Progressive Trance (it's a bit simplistic and dated in some perspective, but carries so much soul <3 The best effort composition-wise the Ofer co. ever did in my books) Ra - To Sirius
staffan
As always, it's difficult to choose. Hallucinogen - Twisted Eat Static - Implant Koxbox - Dragon Tales MFG - The Prophecy Sandman - Witchcraft Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation Doof - Lets Turn On Transwave - Helium TIP - Feeling Weird Astral Projection - Trust In Trance
astralprojection
not in a particular order as its all based on mood. Astral Projection - Amen Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy Astral Projection - Another World Blue Planet Corp. - Blue Planet Yahel - Waves of Sound Yahel - For the People Vibrasphere - Lime Structure Hallucinogen - The Lone Deranger Cosma - Nonstop MWNN - Interstate Highway I didnt include any Pleiadians or other wonderful artists because I dont think they have albums that are good through and through. I could however put a bunch of VA's on this list too, that includes tracks like Lazy Spiral, Time Dilation, etc. This goes for other artists aswell. For example Vibrasphere. I love about 20 more songs by them, but no particular album contains too many great ones to fit the list. Only albums that have maximum of 1-2 "fillers" is my critera for above. astralprojection
What?! No Talamasca? No Toi-Doi?I love many Talamasca tracks too, but no One album in Particular is good enough to host too many great ones. And sadly this goes for many artists. Thats why I often enjoy really good VA's instead.
Novoice
Without any order: Silent Horror - Séance RA - 9th Dimension 5 - Transdimensional Dimension 5 - TransAddendum Hunab Ku - Magik Universe Celestial Intelligence- Perpetual Energy Mindsphere - Inner Cyclone Crossing Mind - The Inner Shift Nova Fractal - Fractal Landscape Omnivox - Fragments Of Evolution Plus number 11 (because officially a copmpilation, but feels like an album): Dimension 5 - TransStellar
MAM015
My top 10, without any particular order... I have at least 1 physical copy of them all: Jaia - Blue Energy - Blue Synergy (Yellow Feather) RA - 9th (Suntrip) Pigs In Space Pigs In Space (Phonokol) Hallucinogen - Twisted (Dragonfly) Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation (Avatar, RE) Juno Reactor - Beyond The Infinite (Javelin Ltd France) Mindsphere - Inner Cyclone (Metapsychic) Braincell - Frequency Evolution (Glowing Flame) Jaia - Fiction (Digital Structures) Ethereal - Anima Mundi (Not on label, RE) on a side note, it's good to be back, my last post here was 4 years ago; I dropped out for personal issues. Now you may ask what a die-hard Goa fan has to do with braincell at all... I keep asking myself the same question

psychedelic chipmunk
No particular order, I'll limit myself to one per artist, though, it's tough Etnica - Alien Protein Hallucinogen - Twisted (although, I'm not entirely convinced, it's a proper trip from start to finish and the 5th track is just...booom!!) KoxBox - Dragon Tales (and Forever after, too somewhat) Khetzal - Corolle Message from God - Project Genesis (and New kind of world AND The prophecy ..god damn it ) RA - To Sirius (no-brainer) Shakta - Silicon Trip (hooooly shit) Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy Miranda - Phenomena Artha - Influencing Dreams I'm sorry Filteria, I love you, but you didn't make the list :< If I had to pick my all time favourite..ughh.. HappyHorse
[...] VA - Erta Alé! Yeah I said it! No comps? Well it's not a comp to me! MUAHAHAHAH [...] But you can't ignore it. You just got a digital kiss from me My top 10: -X-Dream – Trip To Trancesylvania → Why? It is mellow, deep, trancy and dreamy with a full story and bouncy techno beat; like it should be. -Chi-a.d. – Virtual Spirit → Why? Most complete goa album ever made...this album listens like how a fairy tale reads. -Koxbox – Forever After → Why? It is the most funky and SF-Goa ever made. Warm, deep and so complex. -M-Run – Some Run Just For Fun → Why? This is the revival and more radical form of ‘Color Box’ and it stands out of all the newer Goa trance of its quality and especially very unique sound and drive. -California Sunshine – Wonderland → Why? One of the first goa Cds I ever bought: it made me smile and smile. It is intense and the definition of real melodic goa trance (new skoolers – listen and learn). -Green House Effect – Global Warming → Why? This is funky, like it is disco goa trance. Melancholic, deep and warm and especially the production is ridicilously good! -Ololiuqui – Dito → Why? In my opinion the most complete progressive album ever made. No cliché sounds but unique and utter best production. -Xenomorph – Cassandra's Nightmare → Why? It is the perfect nightmare!!! -MFG – The Message → Why? Just because it is (in my opinion) the only complete psy trance album where also the Matrix samples are perfectly fit for the music (or is it the other way around?). Last but not least...the new ARTHA album media October 2016 ("Fuck you dolphins", it's too good not to mention ) New goa can be as good as the old Why all these CDs? I think they have something in common not all albums and artists could (and still can not) provide us: a ) good mixing, b ) the right sound for the right melody, c ) real melodies (which became even more rare in the period we are now - even if assumed most new goa is melodic), d ) a good deep base and kick (straight imported from techno, house,...) and especially: being very very original!!! Like an artist really should be. PRODUCTION & ORIGINALITY COUNTS!
ptn
Digging up this fossil (alphabetical order): Art of Trance - Wildlife on One Astral Projection - Dancing Galaxy Electric Universe - Stardiver Hallucinogen - Twisted Infected Mushroom - Classical Mushroom KoxBox - Dragon Tales Pleiadians - I.F.O. Portamento - The Portal Total Eclipse - Violent Relaxation Transwave – Helium Some of them are here having sentimental value to me (like Art Of Trance, Electric Universe or Total Eclipse ) and some because they are IMO untouchable (Hallucinogen, KoxBox, Pleiadians). Portamento's album brought me back to goa/psy sounds and I consider it a new classic.

Jaza
The problem with this is the modern day move to selling more singles and 2-3 track EPs means that such a list is more likely to contain older albums. Neo goa is one of the few sub-genres left where artists still seem defined by LPs. For instance a Dickster album with all his best tracks from VAs, etc, from 2010-15 would likely make mine. But his actual album Innebriati would not.
the goa constrictor
I mean, to be fair, much of the old music was singles based too. There is no Slinky Wizard album, Satori album, the first Process album was actually Prometheus Process and was fairly removed from the earlier sounds, Syb Unity Nettwerk, Yamabikaya, Eupsychia, O.O.K.; I'd say that the album-era was kinda second or third wave. Early 2000s, after 12"s started to decline and before digital distribution really kicked in.

Manuser
I listened to the Yamabikaya album a while ago and really did not like it much. Was a disappointment for me but I guess it's worth buying it if you are a collector.
psytones
I donno bro I truly love it to bits. Got more then one copy (been played/party a lot). But yeah as the saying goes.. Taste is like the ass. Divided and usually it stinks. Also Fragletrollet bought it after I got him attentive of it. And he loves. It's very trippy, and minimal. Very fun and psychedelic imo. Subtile excellence. . And they where like 4 people (?) All contributing real music skills (?) in a very strange minimal and psychedelic trance group. I mean, it's just awesome. Cover-art and their Japanese just matches the music so. Of course.. it's old. But it has bass...... Shameless.. I used their music first and last in this dj-set for a festival in the northern swamp forest .... I'm sorry for the winging off topic. Maybe I'll manage to give my actual reply to the OP laters
