I never really loved Matsuri. I found that it was a little bit underwhelming in many ways, as it could have been a game changer if some of the experimental world had been produced with a bit more deepness & definition.

Not to forget these VA's...

VA - The Truth Of Communication

VA - Abstract Phaze

VA - Resonance Mood

Especially the latter is one of my favorite oldschool comps of all time. Very gritty, raw sound!

They had probably (IMO) the best artworks and today I'm very much inspired by their stuff. Regarding the music, probably:

Transwave - Helium
Koxbox - Forever After
Sandman - Witchcraft

Prana - Geomantik
Nervasystem - Stardust
Power Source - Goaway
Athena - Human Vox
Prana/Athena - Future Space Travellers
Transwave - The Rezwalker
Doof - Born Again

You're more than welcome :D I was blown away completely when I first listened to it!

And how could I forget Koxbox' Forever After!! Probably my favorite album on Matsuri Records along with Prana's Geomantik.

Forever After is originally released on Harthouse, so you are indeed right.

As for the list, which is going to be short as I do not have much.

Infinity Hertz is a brilliant two CD compilation.

Transwave - Helium

Endora - Joy EP

Athena - Human Vox EP

Digitalis - Soma Junkies EP, mainly because of Dr Sembei track.

Part of me fears that this is just bandwagon-jumping, with the increased interest in all things 'old school' and 'Goa trance' in recent years. But if it leads to some cracking NEW music (and not just remixes!) I'm all for it.

It could be anything, but 'nu-goa from Japan' gives me hope that there might be some fresh goodies aswell.
