This summer I went to: Depeche Mode, Heavy by the sea Festival (Down   , Slayer, Rotting Christ, Napalm Death) and Roger Water's "The Wall". Quite poor actually, but there weren't that many good concerts this summer in Athens.

Anthrax played but I'm not a big thrash metal fan and didn't feel like getting cramped in a club with 40C outside and barely any air-con (as it usually happens aound here in the summer).

Clutch had a fantastic performance, I regretted not going, it was 50/50 and I decided not to go.

Neal Morse feat. Mike Portnoy is on tonight, I didn't get presale tickets and unfortunanetly I have other things planned for tonight

I'm going to this concert, mostly because the bassist of Potergeist is a friend of mine: Potergeist, Psycho Choke, Harsh Demise, Stonebringer

And I'm also thinking of going to:Spiritual Beggars, Drunk Motherfuckers, Full House Brew Crew, Six For Nine

I meant that my concert-going this summer was poor.

The Wall was good, especially the sound quality, since it took place in a large stadium there were line arrays hanging around the perimeter so the sound effects (gunshots, explosions...) came from different directions, I turned around twice because I thought something was happening behind me, Pink Floyd's music of course was superb.

The best thing was that I got in for free and straight to the expensive frontal area (I have a friend who is a master in sneeking in venues... some of our efforts to get in for free are ridiculous and we are succesfull most of the time). This time we went to the one of the near-by warm-up tracks that we knew had an underground tunnel that leads straight to the olympic stadium, we walked in darkness for about 400 meters... unfortunanetly the door was locked at the end but some windows were open, so we climbed up one, ended up is some kind of trench that gathers rain-water, climbed again, moved a drain cover.. and VOILA we were inside the track!!!!

The not-so-good thing was that it was better to be at the center of the stadium, since the wall was huge, one's line-of-view was limited to only a specific part of the wall, missing all the rest of the action taking place.

Edit:

Now that I think about it, we also got in for free at Heavy-by-the-Sea and Depeche mode, although it wasn't as exciting as Roger Waters, we just jumped over a fence.

I saw Neil Young this year for my birthday, was amazing as ever even at his age. Hoping to see Hawkwind in the next year while I'm in the UK as they will never come to Australia lol.

i had hoped you'd say that it wasn't good at all and i hadn't missed anything ;)

a real adventure :). i only remember sneaking through the woods and bushes to get into parties, where the police blocked the entrances in hopes of shutting the party down. getting there was half the fun :)
